It's funny....when I was growing up, the music was essentially what my parents listened to, particularly my mom.

As a result, I love the Beach Boys, Peter, Paul, and Mary, ABBA, and the Carpenters. (Admit it...it's hard to get ABBA out of your head...if you change your mind...)

I looked down my nose at the "hard rock" bands of the 70's, because that was for "uncivilized" people. The cultured people listened to folk music and what would become techo-pop. The hardest I ever listened to was Queen (which, of course, is still amazing. Freddie was an artist.)

And, after all, I was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 70's.

But after a long, circuitous route, I've discovered that there is a lot to be said for many of these groups, particularly for the musical themes they explored and developed...and so, I've grown to like bands like the Who and Pink Floyd and even Led Zeppelin, to a degree...but especially the Who. They were doing some really revolutionary things with sound and music.

Just don't ask me to like Rush. Ain't happening.

I started listening to Primus in 1990. I was 13 years old, and I've been listening to Primus and Les Claypool ever since.

Man the memories, the dry crusty pizza the mornings after...good times, good times. Maybe it's good we are only young once

Yeah, it's definitely elevator music, but it's a good example of that easy-going Linda Ronstadt 70's sound.

I'm a sucker for organ

I already knew that

Well...right now it's a biblical comparison to Rush haters...but it will change like the weather.

I had that bumper sticker on my truck more than 20 years ago! Awesome.

Love hearing about Les Claypool auditioning for Metallica. I think he wanted to play some Al Green or something with them. He is gloriously weird and unique.

I don't know. FF is making my hair hurt. It impresses me how much of an echo chamber that man really is.
