So as soon as I joined this forum I just dived in with questions instead of introducing myself so:

My name is Michael from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK and im not that into comics or at least I wasn't until I first went to my local little comic-con and seen the many comics and potential £££ or $$$. So I bought my first comic which was NM inhumans #1 and now the current collection below (past 6months)

Comic books

Black panther #1

Inhumans #1

1st spiderman platinum edition with incentive letter #1

The joker solo 1-9

Uncanny x-men annual #14 gambit first

The new mutants #98 deadpool first app

Fantastic four #119

DC comic presents superman & green lantern #26 cyborg first app

Captain America #297

The new mutants 87-100 cable first app

Avengers annual #10 rogue first app

Amazing spiderman #362

Captain america 357-362 the bloodstone hunt

Shazam #1

New gods #7 steppenwolf first app

Fantastic four #390

Uncanny x-men #129 emma frost first app

Uncanny x-men #221 Mr sinister first app.

All paid for below their asking price as I love to haggle and their all pretty much NM.

Hope I've made some good choices!

Thanks.

Glad to have ya here. I'm relatively new here myself.

Just a heads up, X-Men Annual #14 is the first Cameo of Gambit before his first full appearance (Uncanny X-Men 266).

Welcome, Michael!

Actually, i'll take this opportunity to do the same since I'm fairly new myself (hope you don't mind me piggy-backing on your post). My name is David. I live in Houston, Texas, USA. I've been collecting since my college days in the 1980s. I used to buy new comics each month as they were released (for reading pleasure). However, as I started raising a family in the mid-1990s I found that I just didn't have the time anymore so I buy very few new comics these days (but am considering dipping my toe back in the water again soon). I tend to focus on back issues - silver age (mostly DC) with the occasional gold or bronze mixed in. Thanks for having me.

Funny that the meme is about John Carter but could soon apply to the Gambit movie, which I still wish taylor Kitsch was gonna star in

@DWeeB1967 Hello David. It sounds like you have a good idea focusing onbthe older books. I have only 4 books on my pull list that I get at my LCS every month. They are good reads and decent art but they just don't have the feel of the older books. I primarily seek out higher grade Bronze age and mid grade Silver age DC and Marvel books.

It's amazing how I just found myself buying & buying and some weren't cheap. I think I have 2 of the most expensive hobbies!! Comics & car mods!! Ha

Going to pause on the comics for a little while and go back to my car.

My list of wants:

Comic wanted list

The amazing spiderman #300 - venom first app

the amazing spiderman #361 - carnage first app

Spawn #1 1992 - first edd

Batman: Vengeance of Bane #1 - first bane app

New Teen Titans (vol. 1) #2 - deathstroke first app

Daredevil #131 - bullseye first app

Fantastic four #48 - galactus & silver surfer first app

the amazing spiderman #50 - king pin first app

So hopefully whittle this down by next year.
If there is other possible must haves that will likely increase in value that don't already cost 100s right now please share your thoughts!

nice Audi's are a lot of fun...great track cars too.

I went from a 3.5L V6 to a 4L V8 but started getting too many tickets. I have a a4 now as a daily driver and a old honda vtec car as a project/track car

Most new cars have 3.something, you're living in the past man.

Now, I love my car and I'd never want to give it up. In my 20s I sang a different tune went through cars like candy. I'd get bored of them or see something new I wanted instead. Proof of such was the mounting incremental added trade in values to each subsequent vehicle from the previous. lordy!

The C63 is a beast and screams at wide open throttle. It'll give you chills! I've had a couple Mercedes so far, the last being an E350, absolutely loved it, but I think I will stick with Audi for a while...possibly an RS6. The M3 was a lot of fun too but that's the one where I started getting too many tickets lol

You see I always prefer your big engine cars and as the years go by car engines are getting smaller yet more powerful but they lose the soundtrack and the exhaust then becomes more artificial... take the golf R for example and the merc A45... needs a specially engineered exhaust to make it sound "decent" otherwise its just your basic 4 pot engine. I prefer a decent exhaust note to a 0.5sec faster car any day and 0-60 under 6secs does me nicely
