The rarest and most valuable comic book...3546

I've never see a big auction house use this kind of hyperbole (humor?) on such a pedestrian book. Kind of funny though.

Superman #75

I wonder if a novice collector could stumble onto Comic Connect, find that listing and think, oh boy! I'm going to bid on this super rare comic. That black polybag and bloody Superman symbol is so goth. 😂

Man, that's true. I guess I was 16-17 when it first came out. I thought, dude! I better buy multiples of this bad boy. The follies of youth.

@Despain Yep, I was 11. Thought my copy would be worth the world by now. Funny thing is, 24 years later I still have never opened one 😳

On that note, I think I know where my next $12 bucks is going.

I get the sarcasm, and even though its poking fun at newsstands its quite funny lol 👌🏻

On a serious note though; I have no idea why but newsstand books of supes75 are common as dirt in every grade. The book is iconic yet worthless all around. 😕

If you pimp it, they will buy.

I only pay 3 figures for 2nd or 3rd print newsstand Canadian variants.

It's nice to know it's a 9.6 and they can grade it without even seeing it.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
It is not unusual for Comic Connect to make jokes when listing books. Especially if the book is or was over-hyped as some point.

I didn't know that. I thought it might be unusual for a major auction house to do that.

@Despain I think it is a low percentage of listings but at least one individual involved with the listings likes to insert a joke once in a while.

They work crazy hours during the week of the auction so that might be a contributing factor.

Caveat Emptor.

An educated buyer would get it, but someone not necessarily as informed could be fooled..
