None, really. However, I did sell my Northland copy of X-Men #10. It gnawed at me. I was eventually able to buy it back. |

There are so many: Most are errors of omission. In the late 1980s I wanted to spend about $2,000 to order some silver age goodness from an online store and my parents said no. When I did place a smaller order online the store was out of stock on the 10 copies of Wolverine LS # 1 I ordered for $1 each. I bought a copy of Saga # 1 for cover price and flipped it on the CGC forum for $8. Also flipped ASM # 13 and X-Men # 8 readers at local comic shows in the 1980s (about $10 each) so I could buy other books. |

@nikki666666 I had a happier ending on my ebay screw up. I bid $250 on Mad Love #1 thinking for some reason that it was Batman Adventures # 12 (there was less than 3 minutes left in the auction so I jumped in on instinct). Less than 2 months later my consignment with Comic Connect (Mad Love # 1) sold for $399.00. Good thing for me the book went up after I bought it. |

All of these were from this past year. 1) I passed up buying TWO 9.2-9.4 looking copies of Hulk 181 for $2800 total, and instead bought some other keys that did not pan out as far as grades. 2) I passed up on a 4.0 copy of X-Men #1 for $1700, and by the time I had the extra cash it was gone. 3) I was offered an AF #15 CBCS 3.0 for $5000, but did not have the cash in time. ![]() |

Oh where do I start, sold so many books I should have not over the years. 6 yrs ago HOS 92 350.00 in 7.5 . Same year ASM 129 300.00 7.5 . That's just a good start , I sold ASM 300'S for 30.00 a piece back in the day - Like water. New Mutants 98 NM 1st prints x 5 or so of these 20.00 a pop, before they became 500.00 books. Now I don't sell I just collect and its getting harder to find decent books. | ||

How about selling The Amazing Spider-Man # 1 for ten cents? My grandmother would buy my older brother and myself comics at an early age. We had many early 60's Marvels, maybe a few Disney's, that we sold at our family's first garage sale in 1971. I do not remember it as I was only 8, but my brother does. We sold all of our comics for a dime each. So whatever Marvel published from 1961 to about 1971 we had a lot of, and my brother particularly remembers Spider-Man # 1. By the time I turned ten I was a collector. My second regret is keeping it so hush hush that I collected. My parents went to a farm auction that my neighbor's sister had, and my dad bought me close to 450 comics, ended up paying about thirty-four cents each, this was in the 80's. All of the comics were from the early to the late 50's. Mostly Archies and some DC non-super heroes (Pogo the Possum, etc.). Dad was able to buy all but two grocery bags full, so I probably missed out on nearly a 100 or so. The regret part comes from my neighbor a few days later when she said "Oh, I didn't know you liked comics, had I known that, then I would have just gotten all of them for you for free and not even sold them at the auction" as she had helped her sister set stuff up for the auction. My third time I missed out was when my mother first took me to a used book store that she frequented. I was able to buy some comics, but not many. I just remember one 4ft x 8ft table being piled high with old comics, all for a dime each. This was in the late 60's, early 70's. (I think this is where my mom got the idea for selling ours for a dime each). Oh well, such is life. Thank Heavens that my parents more than made up for my early losses by getting me comics whenever they saw old ones for sale. |

About five or six years ago (whichever was the first Stockton-Con) a guy had a maybe 2.0 copy of Tales of Suspense #39 for sale for $400. I could have bought it, but it would have cleaned me out at the time. I had no cell serve, so I couldn't check the going rate on e-bay. Still, my gut told me it was a good deal. I offered $300, but he wouldn't do it. I got home & at the time it was going for $1000 minimum on e-bay. Now? More like $2,300 (raw). To make myself feel better, I now tell myself there was probably a missing page, anyway. |

@ThreeSeas :yep, you are the obvious winner by far.... Me? Had a stack of nearly 50 comic books as a kid and decided I was done collecting as the stories never ended. I gave them for free to a cousin who also collected. ASM #3 probably to #12, multiple early Hulk, various other titles, and Fantastic Four. Plus an Avengers # 2 all of which I kept in pristine condition. I've always tracked the Avengers 2, thinking that was my worst mistake but realized later exactly how much the entire transaction costed. I asked my cousin about the comics a few years ago, if he still had them. His eyes glazed over, he said yes, end of conversation. Otoh, they stayed in family and he can pass them and his comics on down to his children..... |

My only regret is not buying a copy or two of Saga #1. I remember seeing it at my LCS the week it came out. I thought "oh that artwork is fantastic, I should buy one". Never did it. Those sell for $150-200 all day right now. |
