How do I renew/upgrade my CBCS Membership?3474

Collector Darkga private msg quote post Address this user
Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere, but how do I renew my bronze membership? It expires on July 20th, and I don't want to lapse. I'm also thinking of upgrading to silver so that I can get the two rapid coupons.

On another note will any points I earned the past year transfer over?

Thanks!

is a membership worth it if you don't send in a ton of books through the year

Not in my opinion. I hate the damn coupons. Using them just causes more shipping costs separating invoices. I really wish they would go to the CGC style full credit option

@ONLINE_209 In my first year I only sent in 5 books to use the 5 bronze level coupons. I did the math and I saved $16 vs if I did the exact same as a free member.

The more you submit the higher the savings because the tier discount adds up.

@shrewbeer I think they should give us the option to choose straight credit, or different combinations of coupons.

Straight credit would be amazing. I wouldn't think twice about paying for membership. Seeing money just go into the abyss though... dang 'ol coupns man I tell you what

They also need to make the coupons worth more than the price of membership! That is the whole point of a membership, special benefits beyond just a regular discount.

Hell, make the membership cost $400 for all I care; just gimme the loot in credit!

Ok I'm leaving this thread now my hopes are getting falsely inflated

It really is designed for people who submit a lot. I've submitted probably 150 books since last year, so I know I've gotten my money's worth and then some. If you think about it, only getting credit for some books is great, but then you don't save any more money. With a $2 discount on modern grading and another $1 discount for fast pass, it starts to add up once you submit enough to have recouped the money you would have spent without the membership.

@Revelations I don't argue the value of it at all. The only reason I only hit 5 books this past year is because I went on strike during #rivetgate. Even at only 5 books I'm happy saving $16, that is half a tank of gas on a good day. If things go to plan, I hope to submit at least 60 more books over the next 12 months.

Not really. I tried to use my coupons last year - just for their billing department to miss the statement "pls use my e-coupon" in font size 45 or like on the submission form.

Zack arranged for me to get a credit against next submission regardless of tier. Oh boy you never know how much you miss a person until that person has left!

I had the same problem on my first invoice, they solved it quickly, but it still grinds my gears that it's 2017 and the shopping cart has no coupon features built in.

So if I were to sign up for a membership today, I would have to wait until they mail me the coupons? How are the coupons sent to me?

They are not. You use your "e-coupons" by writing on the submission form that you wish to use them and cross your fingers.

@KingNampa it's just like a digital coupon only without the actual digital part.
