What is a crease worth?3224

Collector imagejock private msg quote post Address this user
If you have a book and it appears all that is wrong with it is a small crease less than 1/4 inch and slightly breaks color on the lower right front cover....what would this grade at roughly?

According to the overstreet grading guide it says that only a 7.5 allows for that crease that breaks color. Is this true?

Better than the 7.5 Overstreet quoted haha I'd be happy with a 9.2, still NM-

Without having the book in hand its impossible to accurately grade it. There are just too many variables when it comes to accurately grading Comics. Assuming the book has 9.6 - 9.8 qualities, I would tend to agree with the other board members on the 9.2 NM-. I can't see the crease in the scan, but it appears the bottom right edge has some "roll" on it, and I WILL find some other tiny imperfections that might likey make the book a 9.0

Again, comic Grading is so subjective its hard to really know without having the book in hand.

Am I getting old? I can't see a color breaking crease.

@DarthLego Very tip of the bottom right corner, right at the edge of the glare.

I think 9.2 is a safe bet. Nothing wrong with a 9.2, it is still in near mint range.

If its more of a "blunt" on the tip and the book displays nice 9.8 qualities, I can see the book in a 9.4 slab. Ive crack plenty of 9.4's with more issues than that.

Eye of the Beholder I guess
