Have they announced how many issues Artgerm will be doing for Supergirl?

I was wondering the same thing. I read only two, but Midtown currently has issue 14 as preorder with Artgerm cover.

I'm hoping for a 12 issue run, in spite of what my credit card says.

So, from the collecting, selling side of these covers, are you guys selling your copies outright, as soon as you get them signed, or will you hold for a little while? I noticed issue 12 is about in the $10 range or so on eBay, so not a drastic increase. I am wondering if demand will increase once the market dries up from these early initial flips. Just curious.

I'm planning to keep mine but I've only getting 3 copies.

Holding on to mine as well, will probably have a couple each sent to Trinity for sig and yellow label. Thought it might be cool to sell them as a set once they are all out

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
It looks like Antgerm will be doing a variant cover for Supergirl # 15, not sure after that.

Today I placed an order with Midtown that included this week's releases along with a couple back issues. I also placed what looks like two advance orders (one will include Batman # 32, one will include Batman # 33).

I was able to place an advance order for 10 copies of Supergirl # 14 but it looks like I will have to wait until the week of the release to order # 13.

@drchaos So what you're saying is Midtown is already sold out on #13 pre-orders for Artgerm cover?

Look at this.

I've never seen TFAW advertise a single issue B cover like this before on the front page. That's a huge sign of how much attention these covers are getting.

@DarthLego Not sold out, there is a window between the advance orders (bigger discount, no free shipping) and the pre-orders for the books to be released on Wednesday (smaller discount, free shipping over $75).

Advance orders are for books from 3-8 weeks out (Batman 32 and 33 were available as well as Supergirl 14). Supergirl 13 is no longer available in this bucket and Supergirl 15 is not available yet.

Orders including this week's releases, releases for the past few weeks, and back issues all get lumped together in one order.

Books coming out in the next two weeks are not available until the Friday before they come out.

At least that is how the lady at customer service explained it to me.

@drchaos Gotcha

TFAW.com still has #13 available for pre-order.

@drchaos sometimes I've found tfaw is a bit staggered with Midtown. Lucked out a few times when I was late to the party

TFAW keeps books available for pre-order all the way up until they are either sold out of their allocation or actually arrived in stock.

Well no one would ever mistake me for a choirboy or a prude but I have to say that those two middle fingers on #13 (and on a children's comic) I find very repugnant indeed.

I have to agree, its a bit much...so I ordered extra copies b/c I can't imagine DC is going to let something like this slide again, if they even actually follow through with this one.

I just did. Also, it's not a child's comic. Also, only dirty minded middle aged men like us would ever see what we are seeing. Our imaginations are way too overactive. The rest of the world doesn't give two Jackwagons.

Well we're going to have to disagree on this Darth. I think comics are for kids and that this transcends GGA almost into the realms of pornography.

This reminds me a bit of my childhood, given the other story thread.

DC would have never shown this back in the day; but Marvel would. I dont see anything wrong with it, but it IS outside of the norm from what is expected of DC.

I don't think it's so much that comics are for kids. Arguably they are, but I don't know that I'm going to let my kids read most of what's out there right now, or even some of what I read when I was 12. It's that in this series Supergirl is portrayed as a teenager, at least I believe she is. That's what shocked me about the cover. If this had been catwoman or Harley, I wouldn't have really noticed. They're adult characters that are traditionally known for using their sex appeal. It's DC allowing this portrayal of a teenager that is so odd. I get that Supergirl has been portrayed sexually before. In the 90s she was banging Luther, but she was portrayed as being in her 20s (and she was a shapeshifter/clone, so there's that). But she's a kid in this series.

Like I said in a previous post, I don't know that DC will let something like this slide again. And tbh I'm waiting for the announcement that this one has been pulled.

I'm with DarthLego on this. I didn't see anything wrong with this cover (Artgerm SG 13). I just showed it to a few non comic collecting adults (men and women) and asked them if they they saw anything wrong / inappropriate with it. No one saw anything along the lines of what's being discussed on this thread. Then, I told them about what's being discussed here. 1 of the guys said, "Well, I guess you can see whatever you want to see" one of the women said, "That's gross. The only way someone could see that is if they wanted to see it."

I'm not going to get into a argument about it. I'm not saying the comments are right or wrong. I'm only passing along what was said.

I'd be interested to know what results others get if they show the Artgerm cover to people outside of comics.

Edited for clarity

Doesn't anyone remember when J Scott Campbell got into hot water with that Riri Iron Man cover or whatever about being too suggestive for a high school girl? They made a different cover with her holding the helmet or something if I remember right.

Darth - I'm going to have to disagree on this one and agree with everyone else - that cover is suggestive on many levels, just as I said the first time I saw it. Of course I have a dirty mind! We all do on this forum.

Finally emptied my pull from the troll that reads my books. My SG12b is a VF. However, the 12a is better art, and in NM+.

Using the 12b as my reader copy. Sorry lol but artgerm failed to outshine the cover A on this one.

Another interesting tidbit from that LCS. She grades and prices incoming back issues on a 1-10 scale. Literally. No "grading", just an arbirary "on a scale of 1-10 what would you say this book is". But uses a 3yr old price guide ive never heard of. Its a crapshoot 🤣
