I'd say $40 is fmv on a raw 9.6+ Son of Dathomir 2.

The Dark Horse Star Wars #16 can be found on eBay for under $5, you might pay a bit more for a super clean copy.

Why would the SW: Sons of D be worth $40?

@Hexigore why wouldn't it be worth that in high grade? I'm going by what it would cost to actually aquire one off eBay today, there are not that many for sale.

i was just wondering if there was something special about the book that it would demand a FMV of $40 in a raw form. Is it a key?

I'm not sure how many they printed but it does seem scarcer than a lot of other Star Wars books. Also the storyline was used in the Clone Wars animated series and was a popular story arc on that show.

CPG prices should only be used as a starting point btw. On many books they are slow to catch upturns in the market. On many other books the may be drastically over what the current market is, especially for graded prices. A lot of their numbers come from algorithms that just don't match reality.
