Not a facebook member....but no worries, because anyone can access FB Live.

Why do most books get a specific variant name while a small number just get a generic note on the label stating "X Different Covers Exist"?

Also, and this might possibly be related to the above, should there be exceptions, however rare, from using the indica information for all books when the community or common sense would identify the book differently?

For example, most people who own this book would identify it as a variant or reprinting of Batman #1. However, it was produced for the Batman Exhibit studio tour and that happens to be what the indica reads

However, we all know indica can be wrong. For example, (I haven't found a CBCS graded version of this) the Walking Dead #34 Second Print where the indica reads the wrong date. This CGC copy lists the correct date on the label and then has a note stating what the indica actually reads.

Sure, proving a release date wrong can be more straightforward than proving a title wrong but the title on the label could be something like "Batman #1" or "Batman Exhibit: Batman #1 #nn" like they do with Wizard Ace Editions would seem more correct to more collectors than "Batman Exhibit"

The correct title is listed on the indicia. Not on the cover.

This answer glossed completely over the point @dielinfinite was making, and that I attempted to make in the past. We know what the Indicia states. We contest that DC made a bonehead error on this Indicia. Furthermore, we feel that when these bonehead errors occur that CBCS except what the entire collecting community has excepted as the proper name for the book. This book is and will always be known as Batman #1: Batman Exhibit VIP Studio Tour Edition, regardless of the Indicia that was made by a drunken DC employee. It is a reprint, it is a #1, it is not a #NN one shot book. The label for this book as is looks stupid and confusing. It doesn't properly tell a customer what the book actually is.

Feel free to call it what you want to, but unfortunately that's what the indicia says, so that's what the label says.
