5% distribution to only 2 chain bookstores, B&N and BAM

And a lot of them are dented or spine ticks from being on the magazine newsstand too

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user

How long before the first ones start showing up? I'm guessing 9.8s get $100 the first week. First one on eBay might get $150 if there's no competition and its bin.

There is a CBCS 9.8 up on ebay for $299. Must have done on site grading at Heroes.

And if she says "no" in Batman 25 tomorrow, these will be worthless.

@kaptainmyke are B&N and BAM the only stores that sell modern newsstand issues?

Come on...first of all they have got to drag it out a few issues...then she's gotta say yes....then they'll go through the courtship for about 5-10 issues when they'll realize this ain't working out...

Gotta milk this cow.

What do people think the odds are they'll actuall tie the knot? Are there any Vegas odds out there? I'm giving it a 10% chance of going through, 90% that one of them calls it off.

Way too high. It'll sit there a while. At least the person offers free shipping!

@Drogio

I go out of my way to go to AJs because Pete is so awesome and all his new books are in bags on the shelf so they are almost always all NM! His selection of back issues is growing and he just moved to a bigger shop down the street!

You should check out comic lounge in New London! The owner is Seth and he has some unbeatable prices on keys and rare books! His back issues selection is smaller but growing and he actually started by renting extra space out of Spirit Gallery Tattoo on bank st(literally around the corner from sarges). They've grown and since closed the current shop and opening a full shop 2 doors down(still bank st) on July 1st! His books are in amazing shape and because it's the owner you get great customer service and he negotiates prices (unlike sarges on both)

I like sarges selections not the staff. They are almost always little to no help and they have like 3-4 of them so I don't know why.

@shrewbeer

If you are anywhere close to colchester AJs is the best place, you can sit there and actually talk comics with the guy, and he's so cool, not condescending like some bad shops.

The Comic Lounge is really cool and it's a nice alternative to Sarges.

Me and the wife want to check out the Putnam shop, they claim to be the biggest in the state and honestly they have the coolest HD 360 virtual tour on their website and we both thought that was so cool and they have a HUGE selection based on what we saw!

Virtual Tour

Just look at all those long boxes lining the walls!

I'm not sure by which measure they are claiming biggest in the state, but Wonderland does have a HUGE selection of copper/bronze/modern back issues. Two big lomg walls of (triple) stacked longboxes.

No slabs, not much for keys, but there is a really good selection of Silver age back issues as well in a different section (abt 20-30 short boxes?)

Yeah I may have been wrong when I said they claim that but I thought they did, anyhoo, we can't wait to stop in there and check out a new shop, especially with such a selection.

Yeah, not a fan of sarges. I will have to check out the comic lounge...sounds familiar...I think I've been. It forgot after I went on hiatus from comics for a while.

I recently discovered Ajs. Small but they do take better care of new issues.

Never been to wonderland...but I've heard positive things...it's a bit of a hike, so it'll have to be a day I can escape from the responsibility of my family life for an afternoon. Thanks for posting the link!

This book was so hard to track down even for a 2nd print. But this what happens when you have little girls, you find mangled comics at the bottom of laundry baskets 🤣
