The Pre Robin Tec Thread304

Collector Kinzebac private msg quote post Address this user
In honor of a classic golden age run that many have chased, and with a special thanks to another forum which created the idea for this thread, please post your Detective Comics #27-37.

Please feel free to discuss:

How did you get or any other stories behind the book.

I will start it off:

Tec 36. I picked this up from CBCS boardie thejudge01. It was a remainder copy that I had restored by Tracey Heft

Here is my Tec 33 that I picked up off of eBay

Here are books I had to sell because of a divorce, and at this point, I don't think I'll be able to afford again.

If I'm lucky, I might be able to snag a mid-grade restored 34 for under $2,000.00.

You can definitely get a midgrade restored Tec 34 for that price. Richie Muchin has one right now for 1800.

That's Tomorrow's Treasures, right? I've looked at that copy a couple of times and might end up pulling the trigger.

The problem is I saw a guy on eBay sell his pre-Robin restored books with insanely low buy it now prices the weekend Batman v Superman came out. The 36&37 sold for $2,000.00 a piece, before I could snag them. Hell I added the 32 ($1,500.00) to my cart, and by the time I hit checkout, it was sold.

I guess I'm holding out for something like that to happen again.

Yeah, that is Tomorrow's Treasures. It a fairly nice looking copy. If you make an offer to Richie just make sure it is close to his asking price. He is not big into negotiating.

I talked to the guy who sold all of those Pre Robins on ebay that you were referencing. He admitted to listing them too low. Whoever landed them made off like a bandit.

Did you see the 3.0 restored Tec 37 went for over $6,000?

Honestly, I am not surprised by that price. I think whoever bought it will get the restoration removed and turn into a blue label.

I have a few....
Here is my run! Can't do a group pic as the books are in three different banks lol
This has been in the works since 1998 when I bought my first copy of Detective 38!
Don't have a picture of the 34.

31: Raw 1.8/2.0. Bad picture

32: CGC 1.8 Universal

33: Restored by Trace Heft. Probably a 7.0 EP.

34: No image. Raw apparent 2.0 with amateur color touch on cover

35: Restored by CCS. Probably a 8.0 EP.

36: CGC 7.5 Moderate resto

37: Restored by Matt Nelson around 2000. Probably a 7.0 Mod Resto

38: Raw 1.5/1.8 (no spine)
