I'm Director of Comics and Fine Pens for PBA Galleries Auctioneers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Comics are my passion and pens are a fun and profitable sideline. High-end fountain pens are big in Europe and Asia, so my job brings me to places like London, Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, Copenhagen, Geneva, etc. Keeps me off the streets and out of trouble! | ||

Quote:Originally Posted by ComicPixKid Ooooo...pens!!!! Don't know if any of mine qualify as 'fine' - 3 Sailor, 4 or 5 vintage Montblanc but just 22s, 24s and 225/522 etc. of course Lamy 2000 - a ton of vintage Esterbrook and Parkers (love the VS and striped vacumatics), and a couple vintage Sheaffer and Waterman. Try to restore most of them myself if I can - just lots of fun Also too many Penbbs/Asvine/Jinhao/Moonman(Majohn) etc!! Recently picked up my first Chased Ebonite eyedropper - love it - call it medium flex XF to BB or BBB with some pressure Near as I can tell would have been 1905 to 1921? Eatons was the Amazon in Canada from 1860's to 1990's and only opened the Winnipeg location in 1905 and looks like stopped using Toronto/Winnipeg on their catalogues in 1922?? Just love having some Canadiana in my fountain pen collection - I strongly suspect this is a Watermans pen rebranded for Eatons |

Former cart boy at Petricka's County Market. Former laborer for residential home construction crew. Former painter of college dorm rooms. Former advertising assistant at a newspaper. Former employee at Border's Books (which still might be my favorite job of all time). Former editor in the communications department of a regional health insurance company. Former security guard at Target (super boring, but great place to work). Former vacuum salesman (for only 1 day). Former law clerk. Former construction defect lawyer (super boring). Former family law lawyer (not boring, but super miserable and emotionally draining). Current personal injury trial lawyer in Vegas. It is absolutely nothing like what you see on TV, and, no, I haven't watched Suits. I don't own my own firm, and I drive a Honda. I hate ALL insurance companies. I also did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night. |

I'm still here after eight years, ...that's the first sign of at least one successful venture in life! Not much has changed occupationally from the earlier entry on Page 4. I still occasionally lecture, volunteer my services as an auctioneer and create art. I'm also a satirical writer of sorts. Note: Sorts are difficult to categorize, but they do eventually get sorted. Here's an aging daguerrotype of yours truly engaging a crowd with banter at a convention charity auction... |
