Dena didn't contact me to discuss this by email nor offer me any time frame to resolve the matter. Due to the poor internet service coverage on the train it was difficult addressing the problem at all. The communications were initially cordial, but rushed due to service outages which probably didn't reflect well on either of us. Her remarks, while businesslike were unhelpful. My explanations were polite, but every effort to find compromise was ignored. This did not end well from either perspective, of that I'm sure. My ultimate solution to the matter was posting an explanation for the missing images that would appear in every post where the signature line was turned on. Was I pissed off? Sure, but it was not reflected in my signature statement, which was the best I could come up with while in transit. I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my 'line in the sand' thread, but at least some folks know that the intent was neither self-agrandizement nor sour grapes, but rather a crazy policy that lacks any merit whatsoever. Certainly critics can fault my decision to share a personal message, but without it the context of what was transpiring at the time would've been lost. So, there you have it. The unvarnished truth before the trolls get hold of it.  |
