Widow's Web: Personal Collection Thread2832

@Thanatos A few reasons. Growing up, I loved Bond movies. (The "00" in my username). And the espionage spy thriller stuff still intrigues me. When I first got into comics, Superman was my guy. As I've grown older, the more grounded street level heroes have become more appealing. They're more relatable. Then add those factors to my love of strong female characters. And her story is just so tragic. |

@dielinfinite Awesome. Bonus points for the sigs! I thinned out my Modern collection & sold my copies, which I now regret. FYI: Bowen made a statue recreating that pose for the first isue in both a small & large scale. If that slab is going to be displayed, might I suggest. . . |

Cool! I'm not big on statues but definitely something I'll keep in mind. I'm actually hoping to get a Yelena Belova commission by JG Jones in the near future, so fingers crossed! |

@dielinfinite I do love those covers. They'll look great in a slab, and it looks like you have another signature or two. I never understood why the "Pale Little Spider" mini series was under the MAX imprint with EXPLICIT CONTENT prominently displayed on the cover. It's not particularly graphic as far as I remember. They'd make you think it was porn or something with a Parental Advisory like that. |

@00slim it wasn't especially graphic but it does take place mostly in an S&M dungeon with a major revelation being that Yelena's mentor acts out his sexual fantasies of her, which is more risqué than Marvel would want little Timmy to get a hold of Also, I think there is a pair of exposed breasts which, as we all know, will permanently scar anyone younger than 18 that might briefly cast their gaze upon it |

I didn't remember the topless scene, but It's been a while since I've read it. I figured it had more to do with the themes since I didn't remember much as far as graphic content. The giant Parental Advisory still makes me laugh. |

From that angle, the neck does look a bit long. I'm still trying to track down the Dark Knight Joker from the 18" line for a decent price. |

The price jump from a 7.0 to an 8.0+ is pretty crazy on this! | ||

4 days, 12 hours. And now it's at $1200. I haven't seen anything over an 8.0 hit e-bay in over a year. An 8.0 is my grail. Maybe I'll grab a 6.0-7.0 soon o hold me over. |

That's not good, sounds like that's going to hit $1300 pretty quick. I'm sure you check ebay all the time so these aren't new to you but perhaps you can make a "best offer" and get a good deal on one of these to hold you over. 7.0 6.0 |

Yeah. I get e-mail alerts for all CGC & CBCS Black Widow books on e-bay.. I appreciate the links. This 8.5 was gonna be my Anniversary gift if I could justify the price. I'll hold out off for now. But I better grab one sooner than later if this is any indication of the tend for this book. |

The CGC 8.5 ended at $1,427.78. There's a CBCS 8.0 that has sat there for a long time because he's asking over $1600. Time to save some cash & offer him $1200. |
