I can only speak for myself, but I despise Frank Quitely's style.

I stopped reading X-Men (vol.2) when he took over with the "New X-Men" at #114. After a few issues of really disturbing visuals and way too many wrinkles on every character I walked away from a series I had almost every issue of at the time.

I know he's a successful artist, but personally its some of the least aesthetically pleasing art I've ever seen.

Sorry but there are terrible artists. Just because some people like them does not mean they are not terrible. Some people adore the Piss Christ in the museum of modern art.

To each his own. This goes for movies, books, TV, and other mediums as well.

Respect is important.

You can have respect and still think something is terrible. There are some musical artists whose music I think sucks but I respect the fact that they are not afraid to try making different music instead of churning out the same stuff album after album.

There are plenty of people who have talent in a given field that truly are not worthy of much respect. Rangers second baseman, Rougned Odor, is a recent example of this.

When I was a kid, I couldn't read Invaders comics because Robbins' art pissed me off. He pissed off my friends also. Worst Bronze Age artist.

I asked about Proteus because his mutant power is to alter reality.
Clearly their faces have been distorted, they're crying out in pain.

Greg Land is another one. He has been known to copy/trace off movies, games, books, TV shows, Porn stars, celebrities and other comic book artist.

I haven't seen his "original touch" yet, to distinguish him from other comic book artists off the bat.

Case in point:

This cover is Greg Land's, but I can never tell. I can see Adam Hughes and Terry Dodson on some of the characters.

I love Greg Land. Many artists trace reference photos I don't know why he gets excoriated for it. Sean Phillips does it-he even prints photos in bluline then inks over it-no one says a peep.

Thank you. Same here. I loved the idea of the Invaders, but Robbin's art made me really angry. Just horrible.

Yeah, not feeling the hate for Greg Land. Besides, any number of other artists began their careers aping the style of another artist.
