I'm guessing that's Kitty Pryde since that is unmistakably Colossus behind her. And that's my point. One shouldn't have to guess as to which character is which. Established characters should be instantly recognizable.

I don't have an issue with style but you can have style and still have some semblance of anatomy. That stuff is cringe worthy.

I think it's interesting, dynamic, unique, and pops off the page. It's also fun to see him improve and evolve. Team Ramos! |

I think Creg Capullo is also amazing, but he has a unique style that is mostly all his own. Same with Ramos. I'll be nice now. |

This is why I've never really like talking about how bad or good an artist is. I tried to make light of it in a few posts, but some people have very strong opinions on artwork. I look at it like this - these artists are or were good enough to land jobs doing art. This is how they make their living. Obviously someone, somewhere was impressed enough to hire them. Their work is published!! Have a little respect for them in the fact that they ARE working artists!! I may not like all styles - anime and magna come to mind. But that does not mean that someone else will not enjoy it. This is kind of like discussing musicians. I'm positive we all have strong opinions about that also!! To each their own, live and let live I say.

It doesn't matter if it's art, music, or politics. You are always going to have people who disagree and this person or that person who becomes too invested on an emtional level regardless of the topic. It's like arguing who's better, Batman or Superman. Both sides become so entrenched in their respective arguments that they fail to see that both of them of suck. |

there is something with how Ramos draws women that I feel is similar to how Campbell does faces. There is a spiderman book up above with MJ on the cover and I thought at first it was campbell

Being published is something that most of us can't identify with but just because you're published (whatever the form of media) doesn't mean that you're any good. All comic book companies have employed people who weren't all that good. I'm convinced that some of these people were desired because they could hit a deadline, not because they wowed anyone with their artistic ability. |

Honestly, look at Robbins on Invaders in the 70s. How could anyone at Marvel consider that to be good work?

Can't you see Cap coming off the pages at you? Maybe it's just me ... |

Quote:Originally Posted by Jesse_O Perfect. Liking one artist or another is subjective. Reminds me of the discussion in the 90's artist. The old farts club of collectors didn't like Liefeld or McFarlane/McSpidey and left the hobby. The younger group of collectors got what they were doing and responded by buying the product. The same can be said for music. Generally, the generation that comes before doesn't get what the next generation likes or desires. |
