Here's a thread to vent about the artists that drive you crazy, ones that ruin the book for you (think Neal Adams cover with an Irv Novick interior). Pictures are not necessarily a plus 8^D

One of the worst working today is Humberto Ramos. His art is just terrible, what is it, Mexican manga? I can't believe he drew ASM for all those years.

Holy, look at that neck. It is like his head just grew out of a volcano.

Larry Stroman. He did a few issues of the last X-Factor series that was basically fat whispy blobs. Freaking awful.

I found Frank was even worse on Batman than Invaders. He's probably the worst artist I've ever seen that got to draw so many iconic characters.

Frank Miller's art on the Wolverine limited series is a visual delight.

Chris Claremont's Kitty Pryde & Wolverine story didn't have the same artist, and it's a real shame. Al Milgrom isn't a terrible artist, but he couldn't bring the same visual beauty that Miller brought to the Wolverine limited. The story is underrated, in my opinion, too. I often think how much better the Kitty Pryde & Wolverine limited series would've been if Frank Miller or John Byrne had drawn it.

He really butchered that series.
Other artists were the ones that filled the void at Marvel when Image books were published. I dropped most of the new Marvel then.

I've grown to appreciate somewhat Sink's work from this period but at the time, I thought it sucked. Just too different for a superhero book.

Nothing like seeing a real nice action packed Romita cover on the Invaders and then opening it up and being violently jarred by the Frank Robbins interior.

So many artists whose work I don't like.

Irv Novick
Humberto Ramos
Frank Robbins
Herb Trimpe
Don Heck
Al Milgrom (as a penciller. As an inker, he does good work)
Frank Miller (now)
Vinnie Coletta (he destroyed every artist he inked)
Mark Bagley
Neal Adams (now)
Erik Larsen
Mike Vosburg
Infantino (80s work. Just awful)
Frank Springer
Bob Budiansky
Jack Sparling
Steve Leialoha
Trevor Von Eeden
Norm Breyfogle (never cared for the style)
Denys Cowan
Ross Andru

There are also many that just fill me with meh. Not bad just nothing special.
Ed Hannigan
Alex Saviuk
Paul Kupperberg
Ron Wilson
Ron Randall
Greg LaRocque
Curt Swan (much prefer Wayne Boring on Supes)
Eduardo Barreto
Richard Howell

It is pretty goofy looking though I thought he captured the short tank like appearance I envision wolverine to have. He does make muscular big guys really big though.
He is currently doing this x men book and while it's the old man logan wolverine version, he is still like this. And boy his colossus is well... colossal

I've always liked Sal's 70s work.

I was a fan of his earlier work as well...was mainly referring to his late Bronze stuff (Hulk, Rom etc)

Art is subjective. And I can't draw decent looking stick figures, but I thought the same thing when I saw that issue. Just not my cup of tea.

It stated to change for me when he took over for Simonson on Thor and his work on Spectacular Spidey at around the same time. His style got even more angular and his lines thicker.
