Can you guys help me understand why Toxin isn't a bigger character than he seems to be? Is it that Marvel went to the well one too many times or is it something else? Any info you could share would be appreciated. |

Diminishing returns, I'd say. After a while you just can't tell these symbiote characters apart and I say that as a big fan of Venom and Carnage. These are just a few off the top of my head that came out before Toxin. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Toxin is the spawn of Carnage, exactly like Carnage is the spawn of Venom. He was a cop with issues with his wife and son before getting his symbiote.

Yes, that would be the character in question. (Toxin took over Eddie Brock at one time and promised to never do it again). He isn't used much.

Quote:Originally Posted by dielinfinite Are you writing about the supposed death when it was merged with Raze and Jubullie van Scotter? If so, it has never been fully explained that the two symbiotes died or whatever. Raze got absorbed and then they both turned into a golden light at the end of the battle with Chthon. (How convoluted was that explanation?) Also, everyone at one time or another comes back in comics. |

I'm not sure what the point you're trying to make is. Call it death, all it "turned into golden light," call it whatever, Toxin isn't used much because it currently doesn't exist in the universe nor was it terribly popular (your impetus for starting this thread in the first place). Sure it could come back in the future, be it next month be it 20 years from now but how, when, why, or even it'll be popular whenever it does resurface is all speculation at best. |

Quote:Originally Posted by dielinfinite I think the simple explanation you are looking for is that it wasn't popular. To further explain my reply to you and the cause of the thread too...I've no idea if Toxin is dead. Since it really wasn't explained if it was dead or that it wasn't dead. Toxin just disappeared into a flash of golden light. Bad writing and story telling? I guess so. I guess responding back to your previous reply was the wrong thing to do. You took it as a challenge or something and that isn't how it was intended. |

Just hope "Gwenoxin" doesn't pop into the heads of anyone at Marvel. ![]() |
