Just wonder what your thoughts on the Adrian Syaf cover version A. Is this just being overhyped. Supposedly they were all supposed to be returned to distribution but there are a ton still being sold.

seems like a hell of a lot available on the bay. I call Hyped.

I don't pay attention to Marvel too much, though. Marvels multiple comic/story lines makes my head hurt. Is there a specific variant that is sought after.

I'm a Valiant guy all the way. Much easier for me to follow a character or two.

I got the hip hop and young variant and 10+ copies of cover A thinking I might get a couple slabbed the real question is to keep or sell now.

I picked up the retailer summit variant before all the "hype/controversy" just because I liked the deadpool semi sketch cover.

What I find strange amongst the uproar is that the 2nd print cover due for launch is by Syaf. You'd have thought this would have been stopped from hitting the shelves rather than allowing the artist in question back Into the fray

That artist lost his job over it. I think there are so many listed right now is because word spread they were flipping for a decent amount so people went out and bought them all to flip but they just flooded eBay. Once eBay settles I think it's going to start raising again in value. Those pages will never be printed again, he will never draw marvel again... it's got some weight to it in my opinion.

X-Men Gold 1 wasn't a typical recall book like we have seen in the past (Like All Star Batman and Robin 10) where only early ship stores got their books and were the instructed to destroy them. Marvel didn't send out a destroy order on these so the print run is massive, I would guess in the 3-400K range as this book saw considerable preorders.

While the Artist might have been fired he had at least 2 more issues of this book solicited and most likely in the can and is solicited all over Marvel Previews for Variant covers and more.

I wouldn't be paying over cover for the regular book, lower print variants will probably hold their values but I think this is a short term climber.

I got the entire lot from preorder (except Lee Variant, I'm not a billionaire). Even have the Party Sketch Variant signed by Stan before I even knew what was going on. Sucks what came up with the whole controversy but glad to have it all since all future reprints will be altered.

Agreed. I would really like to read the Spiderman comic where he has a wife and daughter, but it seems like there is so much back story I would have to do a significant amount of back reading.

Icon, I love you.

Man, a X-Men Gold Premium variant cover just sold for 110.50. Got ask why as you can pick them up cheaper using the Buy it Now feature listings.

eBay item number:
182534518635

I do not have a book listed, don't know the person who listed it, nor is that my book

Important! There are a lot of scammers selling the standard copy as the premiere right now on ebay! So pay attention to the pictures and titles!

@verbogyrater I think they listed it properly. This is X-Men Gold#1 which would make it a premier issue. "Premier" means it is the first book in a series.

Overhyped. There are tons of them out there. It may raise in price, but not enough to justify current pricing on eBay. I believe this book will settle around the $5-10 range once the hype wears off.

If you have it now, sell it while it's high.

On the contrary, the premier was the two copy per store variant that has a black n white x-men team in the upper left corner. It is trading at 80 dollars plus currently and is the issue Towmater was mentioning. There are a few sellers, if any left now at a uninflated price, that typo'd it calling it the "premium" variant. Imo this is the copy to be had with all the surrounding controversy and now corrective print. Some of the limited variants like the black n white "Bam Fried Pie" variant should hold value as well; there are only 1k in circulation.

Also, If you get a chance, watch the eBay bidding on the premier variant during that last twenty - thirty minutes. There are still a few and it's pretty amazing.

I wonder how many of the Premier partial B&W cover there are out there? 2 per shop is what they stated went out. Also, the B&W Ron Lim Oscar one was supposed to be 1 per shop. I wonder how many that means are out there?

@verbogyrater I did not know that. It looks like Marvel's choice of wording is getting people confused.

I read the BnW Fried Pie that was output at the Fried Pie Con 2 in Colorado was only a limited run of 1k. So it would make sense that the BnW Lim variant that was also recalled be the same number, I am still getting the consensus of 2-3k though.

Tolerance isn't required, when the the other side shows none.

And we are free to burn anything that is our own property.

You can do whatever you like with your own property.

It shouldn't have to be pointed out that book burning has some very negative parts of history associated with it.
