New and old to your Collection -NEWSSTAND-2607

I bought a meat grinder on amazon for $60 and it's changed my life. kaptainmyke private msg quote post Address this user
First thing you should look at is price. Bagged editions have a cheaper cover price. Or, look for the UPC to end with " 02".

Open the book. Also, check the back cover...they may have a different advertisement. I have a a reprint of 414 and 416..as well as 421 and 423..will look into it for you.

I did find a lot of Batman newsstand editions. I scanned numbers 382, 383, 406, 414 and #0. Then I tired of the Batmans.

I see #423 in there...one of my fav bm covers (McFarland).

Once they switched to all barcodes, the easiest way to identify a newsstand copy is that it does not say "Direct Edition" on it

Me thinks @kaptainmyke lives close to one of the last DC newsstands in the country!

On that note, I wonder if there is a way to find out where these are... 🤔 I believe marvel killed off their newsstand program in 2013, but maybe there's a search feature somewhere for the DC program

Marvel pulled from all newsstands in 2015. Only DC Comics and Bongo comics can be found at secret locations that I have yet to name to everyone yet.

There are 2 known hot spots for modern day 2017 newsstand DC Comics. I will hint to you and tell you only that they are bookstores. Some of the last ones on earth to remain, actually.

The villain in question I mentioned is known as "Princess Vik".

Unless of course we find out Princess Vik is First Ally. If so, cover A would be her in costume.

From what I can tell from online auctions (the 5% that actually provide a scan of the back cover....don't get me started on that pet peeve) the bar code reprint edition has either a blue TRS back cover or white TRS back cover. The black or wwf back covers are first prints...man their are a lot of variants for that one issue....including different bat symbols in the upc box!

Yeah the different symbols in the UPC box were how they decided to differentiate the subsequent printings.

If you do a search on ebay for "2017 newsstand" you only get 3 results, and 1 of them is a magazine. These books are super rare it seems. About 25 results if you search for 2016 newsstands, which will return results favoring mostly 1-10 rebirth issues for a premium price.
