Just another gimmick....Coin grading already has this style of labeling incorporated and use them with first day issues or the like.

"Curb appeal" is what I got out of this move.

How is TWD worthy of this? Is it a more important series than Superman or Batman or countless other Golden Age books? More important than Spider-man? The X-Men? Or a billion other Silver age series? No! The truth is CGC struck a deal with the creators of this series that is financially beneficial to both sides. It's another marketing gimmick that I'm pretty sure fanboys will gladly pay a nice premium for. And if that's the case, you can rest assured that more deals will be struck with the creators of other characters/franchises for specialized labels. This is just the beginning folks.

First 150 issues of walking dead vs first 100 issues of any of the books you included.

Which has more graded copies?

I would wager Walking Dead. Its all about which has a bigger following and who would pay money for this. I am going to C2E2 and had quite a few people message me today about bringing there books for re-encapsulation. This is going to be big.

How much more does that cost per slab? I will admit it would be cool for certain issues that i have duplicates of, i could then display the cgc version and and hide away the cbcs version. However i would much rather spend that money else where, especially if it costs more money just for a special label.

It all depends on who you're asking, to be honest. I have a CBCS 9.4 Walking Dead #1 first print. On a personal level I value that over any superman or batman book. Financially, that is a different story lol.

I think CGC has a pretty good marketing team, they know where the market is at currently and know who to target and what to target them with.

Next thing you know they will be grading POP Vinyls.

I might have to crack out a few books, just for that Negan label

Looks like the custom label is an additional $5 per slab. I would GLADLY give CBCS my monies if they did this lol.

Very cool. Would like to see CBCS do something like this as well.

of course keep in mind that Kirkham for sure will not allow CBCS to witness his sig. so of course CGC would only get the WD label.

CGC has a Stan Lee label too. That was $5 added. Image was drawn by J.S. Campbell.

I like this idea but enough to use CGC .. No

Its just a marketing ploy. Would i choose that label over the normal label at resell yeah. Pay more for that book with it no. Id love for cbcs to have this id gladly give them the extra $5. Sadly CBCS cant offer TWD incentives like that with contracts in the way.

Okay...Image, not a real big contract, but that means there are other publishers out there that could be willing to venture out on this path.

Some series I'd be interested in seeing to use, if we had a "want list"...I'd like to see something through Valiant. Rai, Bloodshot, X-O and Spider Aliens.

Is $5.00 worthy?.....hmmmm....sounds a bit pricy to me....maybe $3-4 range is better suited, considering the amount that could be made off of the available print runs for these runs. Maybe even secure them only for key issues and first appearances. One could even inclue the "ratio variants" that are produced, because they are limited too.
