The Zero Key Got Stuck2407

Something just occurred to me. Could these sellers be using crazy prices with the Best Offer feature just so they get the number one search spot when searching prices highest to lowest?

@Towmater Wow....Maybe he mistyped added a few extra 0's. Lol.

That definitely could be. I've seen comic websites and accounts publish news about high asking prices or sales so it could be them wanting more exposure to liken the sale maybe?

That book is immensely valuable, but not over half a million valuable. I'd price that book at a hefty $30,000. That book is impossible to get in such high grade due to the black cover. That sketch tho? Impossibru!

Yeah, that always strikes me as hilarious.

"This book is priced 20 times FMV...plus $20 S&H!!"

Chintz.

I'm resisting the urge to hit the make offer button and offer some low price.

I would think it's a safe bet that if you've listed a book for $600k -- or own a book you legitimately believe is valued at that level -- you would have some sort of insurance on it.

As a result, I often wonder whether some sellers unreasonably believe that their outrageous asking prices might somehow justify an insurance payout if the book is lost, stolen or damaged -- in the sense that the seller would try to use the listing price as some sort of evidence of actual value, up to the maximum of their policy.

Ridiculous, I know. But I wouldn't put it past anyone, and the prices associated with some of these books are astronomical; they can't possibly reflect what a reasonable person would pay or what a seller would reasonably expect to receive.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Jerry tries to claim that his stereo was damaged haha.

The best part about this is that someone bid...person should have put in a reserve, as now final value fees will be charged...Doubt the zero feedback bidder will be paying up.

@Drogio the seller will just cancel once payment is not made (not that anyone would expect that "item" to sell).

But as the high bidder, I fully intend to pay. :P
