When you see a deal you know is a deal jump on the negotiations right away, and then do the research for the little unknowns later. You could have been the dude to convince that seller to BIN, you probably would have convinced him of less than $600 too.

I try not to have doubles in my main collection. Although I do make exceptions for certain things pedigrees, Variant covers , different inserts, double covers and color differences that make the book present a different shade. In the printing field I use terms like weak black, running hot(high magenta)running cool (high cyan). I just like how the color strike can vary and although it is not a true misprint or variant I find it interesting. When people say a book has a good strike they are referring to deep rich colors that are being laid down good and the press was dialed in at the time the cover was printed.

Pulled the trigger finally. Ok so I managed to work out a deal on this one. What would you say the grade is? I'll tell you what I paid after. I'd like to get CBCS to clean and press it before grading. Looks like 4 color breaking spinal dents, 1 tiny dent on cover upper right. Little to no staining, corners look decent. For a newstand copy it's not bad. |

I need help grading this one, LOL. I had a disgruntled customer on eBay who wrote some words on the comic when they returned it. What grade do you think? Negative -1.5? LOL Back story. Basically I was selling this as a crappy reading copy on ebay. I took detailed pictures and started at 99 cents, no reserve. This guy won it for about $40. It was AS-IS auction no returns. The cover was attached and complete when mailing to him. He got it and I guess he didn't like the condition so claimed on ebay, reason was "damaged during shipping". I was shocked. It was double protected by cardboard and bubble wrapped. So I asked for photo proof. Well bad idea, obviously he damaged it and then took pictures. So I'm pissed but I authorized the return because what else can I do, buyer always wins with ebay. I get it back with the cover ripped almost all the way off, bent in half and those nice words in pen. I called ebay, they wouldn't do anything. Ebay Member is imcrzy4luv. Avoid this guy. |

@KingNampa Are you positive he returned the same book and didn't swap it for an even crappier copy? Either way, a really shitey thing to do. Would CBCS allow an eBay blacklist thread?

I suspect an ebay buyer of my Walking Dead #61 (1st Gabriel) tried that and returned a copy that was not the same book. That was years ago when I sold it for $70

Why are all the 9.4 on ebay selling for $750-800 and they aren't even Newstand editions? A few are asking $620. I'm thinking this book should be $1500. Mile High Comics has a near mint copy non-newstand edition for $2750. All non newstand editions have sold around $450-$500.
