| Anyone done this yet? This thought came about from the infamous Iron Fist #1. I ordered the CBCS virgin 9.8, and the plan is to give it to the Wu-Tang group's lawyer and have the Slab signed by certain members as they come into te office over time. This is for me personally and will hang on the wall, so sig verification means nothing. I dont want their sigs desecrating the book, nor their grubby paws downgrading my 9.8, nor any re-grading and sig verification fees. Interested in others thoughts on possibly doing this with other books for your personal collection? Its kind of like having the polybag on a Supes 75 signed (which thousands of people have done). Not part of the comic, but the slab/bag essentially becomes an important part of the comic. - No risk of downgrade - No slab/verif fees - No worries of ugly sigs desecrating a nice cover, you get a do-over if you want Im sure some may think I'm completely off my rocker, but sitting on the couch looking at my Supes #75 and #500 B/W polybags signed on the wall, it could make sense on some books... CBCS does have a nice looking slab ![]() |

| I have some writers and/or artists sign on top of the slab mostly out of convenience The slabbing company is not always around at the signing and it may become cost prohibited to spend the fees for certification if the person signing won't significantly add value over the cost of the certification As a collector as long as I know it's original that's all that matters |

| That's a great idea for your personal collection. Good thinking on leaving at the lawyers office, they're probably in and out of there pretty often signing contracts and doing business. Make sure you leave a pack of markers the colour you want them to sign in so they always have one on hand, I'd reckon they probably get pocketed or tossed out after use. Plus signing on the case will give it a floating signature kind of look to it. | ||

| Did you say Wu-Tang.... I love me some Wu-Tang.... been a big fan from day one. How long would you think it would take to have every current member sign it? To bad no ODB sig. Love the idea. But for me I would buy a different coppy and have them sign it them slab it. But hey thats me. I realy like that idea. | ||

| Ghost Face has a beautiful signature. Not sure about the rest. I have had slabs signed in the past and it usually looks good. I tried to get Kanye West to sign my slab for Grimm Fairy Tales CGC 9.9 that hes on the cover for, he said no. |

| @shrewbeer on a related note..once met Bobby Orr at the Providence civic center for a celeb signing. I watched his agent slip Bobby a hockey photo inside a large plastic hard sleeve and didn't take it out!!. Bobby signed the Sleeve not the photo! D'oh! | ||

There are special markers that people use to get Funko figure boxes signed (for the plastic windows), I would look into those if you want to make the signatures pop / last. |

| I was thinking about this myself, as an artist, I see a lot of the blanks graded and I wondered how it would be received to get one of these slabbed blanks and draw on the slab itself with a sharpie.... Things I ponder.... |

| If it's for you, it's nothing different from getting an autograph book or even a napkin signed (and a lot sturdier.) It won't have any secondary value, but that's not relevant. Some people get their bodies signed...and that always goes away. |

| The only difference between the Supes 75/AOS 500 comparison is that the polybags were part of the original book. They were manufactured that way. The slab, of course, is not. But it's a fine idea for something to hang on the wall. |

| Also, once you had all the signatures you wanted on the slab you could place a slab protector over it creating a barrier. | ||

![]() As a huge Run The Jewels fan I absolutely had to get these books. I was hoping for 9.8's but the Deadpool 45 was a concern due to its all black cover and thickness. So when I got the slab back at a 9.8 through CBCS at ECCC on site pickup, I seriously considered cracking and having the creative team sign and then back to onsite grading. Honestly though, as much as I like Deadpool I just couldnt justify opening the book for any reason so I elected to have Liefeld and Nicieza sign the case instead. I purchased the authenicated sticker for Rob which is on the back of the slab and he signed it twice (thanks to the confusing way his handlers advertise) and so there it is. Yeah someone could just erase the signatures with some turpentine (I actually considered it briefly for his scribble signature which I hate and did not want) but whatever. Now if I ever run into RTJ I can do the same thing and not have to worry about messing up the book. |

| @Drogio that was because of microchamber paper, which CBCS has never used and CGC has stopped using in their newest slab. | ||

Not a fan of on-slab signatures myself but I did get this one a while back just because it was the most cost-effective way to get the book.![]() I was able to get a copy with a cover so I sold it at cost. The guy preferred I break it out of the slab to save him a few bucks on shipping so I think I still have the empty case somewhere, for some reason |

| I recall reading on the CGC Forums that CGC was considering an adjunct to their SS label for slabs that were to be signed in the presence of a CGC Authorized Witness....thereby making the signed slab a witnessed SS item. This was proposed, IIRC, so books would not have to be cracked for a signature, thereby avoiding any potential for the book to be downgraded by mishandling during the signature process. I read that probably half a year ago, nothing has come of it since then.I don't have a link to that thread, no idea how to search for it either. |
