Well it looks like that number 4 grading company Vault finally went out of business. Their website is host suspended, their facebook has no new activity, and the last thing on it is this message from November from a dissatisfied customer: "Poor customer service.... no communication. My comic has been missing for months."

There was a fourth grading company -- who knew? (maybe that was the problem?)

@TruckJohnson

They were in area 51 I heard @DarthLego can validate this. Probably why we didnt hear of them much..

Vault made PGX look like a legitimate grading company.

I would think they may decline and would be good books to buy for some key issues at a low value, just to reslab and gain a better certification, for ultimately a higher value,

@ZosoRocks I think I'd like to have one just as a historical novelty now (like a shrunken head). Despite all of the shadyness about that company, I always thought their slabs looked pretty cool.

I can feel ya...I've always wanted a first run CGC red label - nostalgia.

One day....just has to be the right comic inside.

No idea what it will be yet, but that is part of the fun...wondering what the next corner holds around it.

Cheers!

Good luck buying a Vault graded book. I tried to buy a Vault graded book two different times. A Batman Advs 12 and a Ms Marvel 1 (2014) I won both at eBay auctions. Both sellers never shipped the books and refunded instead, unhappy with the price the book sold at.

The Ms Marvel 1 - the seller was the OWNER of Vault. (Yes, fora time the owner of Vault was slabbing and selling his own stuff) He did the "create a shipping label but never take it to the post office and say it was lost". The other seller on the BA 12 said they were afraid "I would cheat them".. I would cheat THEM. I won the auction, I paid immediately. When pressed, they admitted they didn't like the price the book so for.

Like you, I just wanted to own one, see it in hand. I didn't want to pay $35 and shipping but I think that's about the only way you can get one is to send in your own book.....

There have been other comic grading companies that have come and gone. ACE, for example. It's good that Vault is gone, however.

@DocBrown But, they are not gone (yet). Like I said, their site came back online. But if they are having trouble paying their web hosting bill, they are probably not long left for this world.
