Until next time. I have a hunch CBCS will be back 🍻

I hope you're right.

I told Cody I'd invest in CBCS with others.

This makes me angry.

No, not just angry, but pretty damn mad.

There are a few people that I would just like to grab by the scruff of the neck, whip the piss out of them, and then whip them for pissin'.

I don't believe this....and I know you don't care that I don't believe this. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
Most of us we're drawn to this forum because we recognized CBCS offered something that other graders didn't. We stayed on this forum because of the friendships, knowledge sharing and the fun it provided.

For a decade, this was a place many of us visited daily....to contribute new topics....pictures or just to scope out. There was always something to see, learn or laugh at here.

Its hard to believe this forum and CBCS is going away.....the best 3rd party grader by miles...in every aspect that mattered to collectors is no more in less than 5 days from now.

Its strange that PSA didnt leverage CBCS to their advantage.....being a CBCS loyalists doesn't automatically mean you're now a PSA loyalists.....they could have competed against CGC on two fronts instead of just one....but I digress

PGX is still with us....let that sink in.

Not to get overly dramatic but the good die young? Seems so.

Its just strange that the clearly superior company in this industry is cut down...while the inferior companies continue on.....weird.

Anyway, CBCS, you gave it a hell of a shot....made the hobby better...introduce innovative services like Signature verification....art labels...slab-only options...superior products like consistent grading...best slabs on the market to this day.

All at CBCS should be proud for daring to take on Goliath and truly being the hobby friendly grader. We'll always have our personal collections in those top tier CBCS slabs to look at.......it really was great while it lasted.

PGX is still privately owned. That's why it's still around. If, by chance, it is a corporation, then one person owns all or the majority of the stock.

As of April 17, 2026, the CBCS message boards will be shutting down and CBCS will no longer be accepting new submissions.

We know many of you have built lasting connections here, buying, selling, and sharing your passion with fellow collectors. Because of that, we wanted to provide advance notice ahead of the closure. Please take the next few days to wrap up any ongoing transactions or conversations.

Access to Pop Reports, Order Tracking, and Grader Notes will remain available.

We are incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm, loyalty, and sense of community you’ve brought to the forums over the years. It has been our honor to be part of your collecting journey.

Thank you,
The CBCS Team
What happens to you when doors close? Thanks for everything.

For now I'm still working for Beckett Manga.

As Bilbo Baggins once said, "I think I'm quite ready for another adventure!"

Thanks for asking. I'm sure you'll all see me around in the future.

We all played here for many years and now we have to take our toys to another sandbox to play.
We will take our memories with us.
Fare thee well...

Have they improve their grading or are they still suspect

Good question. I've heard PGX has tried to be better, but the reputational damage is still there. I don't know if I would use them for anything other than some moderns, but I haven't been able to pull the trigger on them in 10 years.
