With things winding down, I thought it’d be nice to share some of our favorite CBCS books and memories and books with attached memories.

I jumped aboard CBCS very early. I hadn’t had many books graded before then but even then I had felt burned by CGC and was looking for an alternative.

My first CBCS book was actually meant as a gift for a cousin of mine who is a big fan of the Kingpin. After I got the book back, I couldn’t bring myself to let it go and it became the first Silver Age and thr first CBCS book in my collection and also seems fairly appropriate given the current situation and mood here on the boards

This is one of my all time favorite covers and I was pleasantly shocked that at came back as high as it did.It looked great to me, but I figured I was looking at it through rose colored glasses. And of course, it looks great in the CBCS case (best in the industry).

Some non-comics blast from the past!

So, when CBCS first started they had a devil of a time getting into SDCC and it wasn’t for several years, 2016 (10 years ago!), that they finally made it.

When they did, I thought it would be cool to have a forum meet-up so I posted an invitation to RSVP so we could cave dinner at a local restaurant. That restaurant ended up being the Lazy Dog, a bit away from the convention but we had a decent turnout, including most of the gang from CBCS itself!

Then in 2017, we tried it again at WonderCon and we ended up meeting at the ESPNZone in Downtown Disney

I tried to set up subsequent events but they could never quite get off the ground but these remain probably my favorite CBCS-related memories

I think I might have some pictures of the Baltimore get together in 2016 when I met Steve Borock.
