What will your last submission be?22267

Collector SidTheSquid private msg quote post Address this user
I'm curious what folks are submitting before the doors close and why? Last chance for the ART or Slab Only label? Last chance to get restored books with a blue label?

For me, I have a couple books that I want to match the rest of my sets that already have CBCS labels.

I also have a couple magazines and want to take advantage of the fact that CBCS never changed the "temporary" $25 price... which is a bargain on vintage magazines.

I'm going to submit about (100) comic books not for anything other than a true grade and mostly for a great slab.

I'm happy with my last submission being everything I sent in during the free vsp promo. Those books would've never been slabbed otherwise. Thanks CBCS!

Now that I know there is no pressing I will not be sending in any for the end

@KatKomics No pressing? I just filled out an invoice and I chose pressing and it charged me for it. Was there something I missed somewhere that said pressing has already been discontinued?

I have talked with Steve Ricketts.. twice. Pressing is NOT available for new submissions for the April 17th deadline. It is not supposed to be an available choice on the submission platform, but it is.

The in house presser for CBCS was let go last Tuesday.

That is too bad. If you haven't mailed them yet, just trash that invoice and start over if you still want to submit them.

Thanks for the info everybody. I'll have to check if one of my local shops can get them pressed quick enough to still submit them.

My last submissions are books that didn't have any (or low CBCS) representation on their population report.

I didn't even know cbcs was shutting down. my last submission was 2 years ago when last they were at heroes con.

maybe consider doing cgc? I don't know. I have comics I want to grade (infinity gauntlet #1, web of spider-man #1, star wars #1). maybe just submit 2 to test them at heroes con. I was waiting for cbcs to either return, or be somewhere but this changes things.

My last submission arrived last Monday and I'm patiently waiting for it to be marked "received".

It includes my Cruise Askew 8 x AW signed book of various Kevin Smith film actors.

I'm late to the party -- just heard the news. Must have missed the email.

Are they still doing reholders? I had a stack of old cases/labels I had wanted to get updated but hadn't sent in yet to get the newer clearer cases. Might send that in if possible

I decided to just go with cgc now sadly. I really want to grade my star wars #1 reprint variant (an original still) and Infinity Gauntlet #1. I had saved money for heroes con to get something cool. spend half or whatever cost it will be to get those two done. then use other half to still get something cool. which would've been a CGC graded anyway.

if I had options, would go other.

@power_struggle55 maybe be patient for a little bit. Once the dust settles, you might see a different slab being used by PSA -- one that looks very familiar to the slabs used by this company. Hopefully.

nahhh....I'm out.
Won't take the risk.
My guess...if the in house presser had been let go then they will send the books to a 3rd party.
I trust and have used CBCS pressing - no idea about a potential 3rd party
Books are safe enough in my boxes....if at some point I want them pressed I can get that done...if I also want them graded then I'll have to wait for a grading service I want to try.

I posted in another thread, that I found a credit on my account, so I considered subbing one last book, but I don't have anything new that I wanted to submit right now.
I re-holdered most of the older slabs in my PC (almost 15 books) last summer. These 3 are the last of my "keeper" book that are still in an older CBCS slab. After my credit and a coupon code, my only cost to re-holder these is shipping. Dropped them in the mail yesterday.

For anyone that wants it, the coupon code is CODY10OFF2026

Edit: Nevermind and sorry for the scare. I see that those are witnessed signatures.

@co2_2 you may have caused yourself a headache. I believe that first label Hulk #340 was when CBCS was using a different company to verify signatures. If so, Beckett won't honor those signatures and will likely charge you to reverify. I'd consider contacting Cody Lockwood and ask him to not reholder the book, unless you want to potentially owe $55 for VSP if they don't give you a deal on it.
