| well - that is sad but not unexpected news. been here pretty much since day 1 when it was a start-up to it got bought by indian investor etc. it never moved away from being amateur company. even the way the announcement is handled is amateur hour. this forum is the best home for me as it is simple to scroll through (don’t have much time available). if you have any info posted here you wish to keep - may wish to download as would not be surprised if one day or just is no longer accessible. still need to decide where to do my charity sales going forward. i would like to take the opportunity to honor the many members, moderator and employees who no longer are with us. oh well - nice meeting you all and it was great while it lasted |

| Saddened by this news, as well as all the forum data that will be lost here! As Doc Watson has mention Collectors Syndicate is THE place to go! Its what the CGC boards and CBCS boards could have been if they did not have Corporate oversight. The sub-forums at Collectors Syndicate have something for nearly everyone in this hobby. The T-Shirts if you choose to purchase any are truly excellent. I got mine via an intermediary. Anyhow Collectors Syndicate is paid up for awhile and merch sales like the shirts pretty much means it will be years before any type of "begging" goes on. mynameislegion and skypinkblue and others who run the joint are decent solid people. skypinkblue went out of her way to provide an avenue for me to donate (it was my choice as I wanted to help the site get off the ground) - donate with 100% total anonymity. |

| I hope that some of the "feel" of the CBCS forum will migrate to collectorsyndicate.com like, comic book day of the year, new to your collection to name a few. I'm already jonesing for CBCS slabs and labels that will no longer be offered (I'm assuming that PSA will not wise up and change their slabs and labels). I'm at least glad that some, if not most, of you will move over to the other site and try and keep the spirit of this forum alive. | ||

| I made the CS account today even though DrWatson sent me the link many months ago. My handle over there is mec3437. I figure I'll maintain consistency with my ebay handle, CGC handle (that I no longer use) and Comics Price Guide handle that I've been using more. I'll have the Bengals helmet logo as an avatar so you'll know it's me. I just have to get in and personalize the account. While I never liked the layout of this forum (very post-it note style), I learned a lot over here regarding grading, collecting, and some of quirks of the community. I'll see if I can find a couple books to send in and take advantage of the last few weeks of grading. I'm sure I have an X-Force #1 or something to submit. I always liked the product, but as Poka said, CBCS never seemed to get out of the minor leagues. Still, they had a good run. I'll probably give it some time before I try PSA and CGC can lick my nutsack. I could try PGX or Midwest Comic Grading. See yall on the other side! I'll still post here til it goes away. I like the calendar and What Have You Read Today threads. |

| I'll likely also move myself over to the syndicate, and I'm also probably done with getting books graded. I'm not dealing with CGC, and I don't want a giant case with a crappy label. If PSA just becomes CBCS, especially from like 5 to 10 years ago, then I'll consider it. CBCS used to aim for "the highest grade that's accurate" but it feels recently like they aim for "the lowest grade that maybe isn't wrong". I'm not excited to pay for that. But on a more positive note, I've learned a lot from this community. There are a lot of knowledgeable people and even a few decent ones  Wherever your collecting takes you from here, I hope you hit the ground running. |

My red label Batman #1 signed by Snyder will likewise remain that way. I’ve only ever submitted to CBCS other than CGC signings. I’ve learned a lot from this forum and all the ups and downs it has seen. Friendly voices have come and gone. I was glad to be a part of it. |
