So did finding a good party! Had to cruise the strip, hang out at gas stations etc, then you had to actually get to the party before the cops broke it up.

preparing a CBCS submission. Is there any way one can apply signature required for the return shipping?

Should I just add it in writing on the submission form?

All of mine have always been sent Signature Required. I've even tried to get around it and can't.

Question: Say you purchase a book on eBay for $70, which includes the (free) shipping.

Since GPA records eBay sales data, they record the sale. However, they record the sale as $70.

Shouldn't there be some sort of deduction for the shipping cost?

The book didn't sell for $70. The shipping was included in the sales price, so it was more like $55 for the book and $15 to have it shipped.

When a book sells for $100 with $18.95 shipping, the sale doesn't get recorded as a $119 sale.

how would you consider GPA to adjust for that in an automated manner?

what about if the price was $250 or $2500. would you adjust as well?

I don't know how they would adjust for that in an automated manner. George would have to figure that out.

I would adjust them all regardless of selling price. Obviously it's more noticeable in the lower figures as opposed to a four figure sale. Sales in double digits can be off by as much as 30%.

That said, even a sale for $785 with insured shipping included through UPS would result in an actual lower sales price by about $30.

With PSA coming to market, I think GPA needs to start including CBCS sales and PSA sales in their data if they really want to stay relevant to the graded book market.

@DrWatson but then it becomes an estimated rather than actual price. how to estimate the shipping price?
there is a difference if eg pick up, shipped within the state or across the States. I think it quite fast will become too complicated. Maybe he can consider to put an asterix or something for prices where shipping is included rather than changing the price

with regard to PSA and CBCS - as long as CGC has 90% of the value of books bought/sold then I don’t think there is an incentive to include CBCS-PSA

@DrWatson what were you saying a while back about the silver to bronze era pertaining to Marvel Comics?

Was it the Death of Gwen Stacy Amazing Spider-Man 121?

Thanks

You'll have to help me out a little more. I'm not sure I understand the question.

If you are talking about the shift from Silver age to the Bronze Age, it's way before 121. It started with at least issue 101, and maybe as far back as the No Code issues, 96, 97, and 98. Conceivably, even with the death of Captain Stacy in issue 90.

I remember you having a theory a while back saying it didn't change exactly at the .12 price point. I couldn't remember the exact Marvel issue you thought was the 1st bronze issue.

Anyway, sometimes I learn or read interesting things on comic book forums. Most of the time I don't. My memory is pretty bad though. There was a boardie a few years ago telling how he was in an LA band. He was on a gig poster with Dale Bozzio or Missing Persons. I'm a huge 1st wave new wave fan and I can't remember who it was or even what instrument he played. Frustrating

I think it varies with each series. Sometimes in happens with the departure or arrival of a certain artist, writer, or creative team. I think some .15 books are still Silver age books. most notably X-Men 58 to 66

Conan 1 is definitely a birth of the Bronze age book.

Should Wizard Magazine #1 be submitted under the magazine tier or modern tier? I believe it's comic sized.

If it's comic sized, then it goes under Modern.
