Just finished doing Grit city in Tacoma.

Five minutes in there and a young woman taller then me (I'm 6' walks past hitting me in the shoulder with the skateboard she's carrying and she doesn't even notice and continues walking.

I'm like...

I'm still hunting my birthday books.

I've put in want lists on many forums willing to pay $40 for books in very/fine without success.

So I'm having to dig through boxes, and these books are nothing books and are in boxes of $2 books in no order whatsoever.

So a real pain to dig through poop..

So I'm digging with bargain basement collectors which really is annoying.

Anyway I see a boxes of Archies where they seem to be roughly in two long boxes and not scattered like most books.

I wait as there are two collectors on either side. Waited around ten minutes for one to move a few boxes down and I begin digging through crap.

I'm in one box of Archies with another box of Archies to my right free and the next box has another collector digging through it.

Within a minute I've got another collector asking to get between us to dig in the box between us. (Archies)

Meaning we'd be elbows in and all three joining shoulders and I'm like.

"Not enough room "

I'm not having anyone against my body without buying me dinner first.

I managed to buy this birthday book I needed for my spinner rack

And I grabbed these to make up $10

I've got a nice raw copy of issue 1 in vf+ from Mark's collection.

So thought why not, and I'm wanting to pay a round figure..

Yeah I get it. I’m 77. When I was young and on the prowl girls were eyes of blue and 5’2. I’m 6’3. I wasn’t into short girls and was able to find and Mary a 5’11 lady. Tall for that era. Now tall girls are all over. I have a granddaughter that 6’4 and 16 years old and in heels I’m a midget.😊😎 Of course her dad (my son)) is 7’ so things seem to be getting taller.

I find another dealer and looking through his books I find.

Lacelot Link, a copy I've already gotten for my birthday books and Buck Rogers, I didn't see this copy amongst Mark's 25k number of books.

$18 so paid cash as always.

He told me he bought the Lacelot off the news stands and as we chatted a guy rocks up and interrupts us.

"I got $47 worth of books will you take $40?"

The dealer thinks for a few seconds and says okay.

The guy proceeds to pull out a plastic card.

So after getting a 18% roughly discount he is going to put in on a card..

I'm thinking if I was the dealer..

Some haunted love, Demon 2 for a reading copy as I own a CBCS graded 9.8.

And some other romance books.

All up I think I spent $56.

About as much as my lunch and bus fare.

It was okay.

Problem is when I can grab 50 books from my collection and they blow away any dealers glamour wall then not the best for buying books except cheap low grade birthday books and stuff as curio..

I even saw a dealer with a issue one of suicide squad in their back issue bin for $100.

This book was in a bag without a backing board..

Crazy pricing and just lazy presentation..

Want to sell a late 80s book for $100?
Condition is the key here!
Use a cheap azz backing board ffs
