Can you specify which parts of his post you question and why? It could be more helpful for everyone reading than it is to simply dismiss it.

@DocBrown I find it pretty interesting.

I'm not sure if I can ever get out of the mindset that anything but a first printing is toilet paper at best (and I still prefer my double-ply over them). I always viewed them as almost "fakes" or "copies" for lack of better terms. I'm getting old and stubborn I suppose 🤔

It is for some participating.

I haven't seen any hype trains running through here, just a sharing of knowledge about why a certain variant of an otherwise insignificant book is a rare anomaly that doesn't surface often.

So, are there any other known rare 2nd print newsstands from this time period?

I just noticed the book was sold for $1200.

I believe that we concluded that almost none exist, therefore the answer would be all of them I suppose

Sounds like any 2nd print newsstand pre-Superman's death is a unicorn, which is actually kind of cool

Yeah, they are all unicorns if they exist. I just wonder if any others have surfaced, or if this was the only issue to get a unicorn.

Just a heads up the seller of the 8.5 has stated he sold the book for $1200 dollars.

I noticed yesterday there was a raw 2nd print, pretty nice looking, for under $20 on eBay. It was a BIN.

Not at all.The Sups 75 3rd print newsstand is a biggie but that is about it.

There are a couple of the DCU reprint variants that are very tough.I own one of them, and I have never seen another copy, either.

He is mistaking a 2nd print direct with a 2nd print newsstand.

That book is "dope".

There's a ton of 2nd print direct out there. If you go looking for a 2nd newsstand you have to look for two things.

1) The text above the title. The first print is lacking this text.

2) The barcode. Obviously.

Must have both features to be the book.

If it was as rare as I'm reading it is... I would think it would be on this list. A great wealth of info on really rare books in there.

Why? Is the webmaster of that site psychic 🔮? The existence of the variant was only just discovered a few years ago and it's still not wide spread information.

I never said it HAD TO BE on the list to be rare. Reading the entire thread and reading how RARE THE BOOKS IS, I would have THOUGHT it would have been on the list.

Just because it ISN'T on the list, doesn't mean it isn't rare.

And what if he is psychic? You believe in that stuff?

Yep, there's a link to his email on the left. Anyone concerned that this book has been overlooked by him drop him a line. I'm not that concerned. Especially since his website html is still stuck in 1999.
