I finished the first episode. I have a feeling an Alien related post might end up in the What Grinds my gears thread (not from me).

It's not for me. I think I may be overwhelmed by too many new characters that I don't care about and too much world building at an incredibly slow pace. The same thing made me lose interest in the new Halo series, despite being a fan of the game franchise. I didn't expect Disney to create anything remarkable, but it was worth the try. That being said, I do hear Andor is good, so maybe I'll give that a watch tonight.

I read that Disney is absorbing Hulu and the app itself will go away in the coming months. I guess i will be switching to YouTubeTv unless I find another alternative.

I made it through the first two episodes - I didn’t realize that there will be eight! Nothing new or really even unexpected if you’ve watched an Alien movie or two. I will probably eventually watch episode 3, but only because I can’t find much of anything new to watch anywhere anyway.

I’m a hardcore fan of the franchise, and while there are some intriguing ideas at play, the tone of the show is a far cry from the movies.

Episode 3 had some sharp dialogue, and the pacing was much better in this particular installment.

The music (especially the Tool song at the end of episode 2 & the Metallica track at the end of episode 3) absolutely do not fit the mood I look for in the ‘Alien’ universe.

And this is a nit pick, but The Xenomorphs in this series doesn’t look or act like the ones we know. They’re too clean, if that makes sense?

Not to mention, the Showrunners seem more interested in glamour shot of the creatures as opposed to building tension.

I’ll keep watching, there are things I like about it, I’m just disappointed by the overall approach.
