New To Your Collection #1921918

How do I know this? Because I've done it myself. lawguy1977 private msg quote post Address this user
Well, before this whole thing shuts down, I got one last post on here for some new stuff. We did MegaCon in Orlando last Saturday. It was my first time, and my wife and son were along. It was hectic, but my wife was a champ in helping share the load. My son got autographs from all 4 hobbit actors along with a photo that included Legolas and Gimli. The photo op line was brutal but my son was ecstatic with the photo, and John Rhys-Davies was super nice with him. Billy Boyd was sick and almost didn't make Saturday, but he showed up around noon, so we got lucky there, too.

As for comic creators, that was pretty wild. I'm used to long lines, but by the time I got over there (around 4:30pm), the only lines were for Jim Lee and Scott Snyder. I knocked out a ton of signatures all within an hour. Pretty nuts. David Wenzel was probably my favorite creator. Super nice and gracious.

Sara Pichelli also was really cool, especially as she technically was done signing but went ahead and signed my book. Stephen Platt and Dan Panosian were also cool, and, as always, Jock is one of my favorites. He's not cheap for sigs anymore, but super nice and great to talk to. He seems to genuinely enjoy interacting with fans. Joe Quesada was nice, too. All in all, a really great experience.

I did the Jim Lee "experience" as well, which was first thing in the morning. That took some time, but I got the last of my Hush books signed along with Superman #204 that's now signed by Lee and Azzarello.

The one part of the sad story is that I thought my Stephen Platt signature was dry on the Punisher variant, which turned out not to be the case. Not the end of the world. The bigger disaster was my Moon Knight 55 getting a tear at the top. That was pretty devastating, but I'm not going to let it ruin the whole experience. At the end of the day, having my son meet the hobbit actors (his favorite is Sean Astin) and getting their signatures was the goal.
