Legend of Kingdom Come21914

This documentary was announced a year or so ago.

It was screened at SDCC this year but u fortunately I missed it. Has anyone picked this up? I wanted to grab a physical copy but I just can’t bring myself to pay $80 for the blu ray. It’s called the “special edition” but it’s the only available physical release currently available. There is also a signed version for $125. Even getting access to the streaming version hosted on their site (so there’s no guarantee how long it will be available) is $30, which seems too high to me.

I think if the prices were half of what they are I’d be fine but I think that for now it’s a bit too much for me.

Has anyone seen the film? What did you guys think?

$80 for a single physical copy of 1 film is truly asinine. I talked a buddy out of buying it while we were at SDCC.

I pledged the Kickstarter, so I have access to the digital, but I haven’t had time to watch it yet!

@UH_antiHERO I really wonder how many copies they’ve printed and how many they sold. Getting the documentary on blu ray was one of the things I really wanted to get at Comic Con but the price just didn’t make sense. At least at the show they were throwing in a mini copy of the graphic novel. I had figured that was included in the bundle price. I had asked if I could get the blu ray without the book but the booth worker said something like I’d be getting the book for free, which I didn’t understand at the time because $80 for a blu ray just doesn’t make any sense

@dielinfinite Yeah it came with the DC Compact Comics version of Kingdom Come. Those are $9.99. Throwing in a $10 book doesn’t move the needle for me.

Off topic but those DC Compact Comics are amazing. I have all 15+ they’ve printed so far. East and cheap way to collect some of the best stories ever.

And they're in a familiar format to younger people who have come up primarily reading Manga. I think they are pretty darn smart.

@KatKomics I have like 3 premium collected editions, including one signed so the free tpb with the blu ray did not incentivize me at all

@UH_antiHERO My son uses them in his classroom. He teaches graphic novel and they are the perfect size and cost. It's like all their books, they know they are going to lose a few every semester.
