How does CBCS handle and deduct for interior page defects?21851

I don't have any CBCS slabs myself, but... Rydog private msg quote post Address this user
I don't believe CGC is very transparent about the interior pages. I believe if you are lucky to get grader's notes at all, they rarely detail flaws on the pages themselves. To me this ironic because the interior is the only area you can't see in the slab. That means the interior should have the most detail not the least. But what do I know?

So, given this topic in general here are a few questions with specific examples:

1) Does CBCS list interior page defects on grader's notes for all comics?

2) Would a small ketchup stain on say page 15 be noted on the grader's notes?

3) Would a 3" dog-eared corner crease be noted on the grader's notes?

4) Would a crayon smiley face on page 10 be noted on the grader's notes?

5) Would initials or any other writing on the interior pages be noted?

6) If any of these "hypothetical" interior defects existed, would would be the maximum grade they would receive?

Thank you.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
I think for 2, 4, and 5, any notes would be generic. Something like "staining" or "writing on interior". The graders aren't spending time trying to figure out what got spilled or what a doodle is.

CBCS Grader’s Notes for a 4.0 GA book they slabbed for me in 2019:

“Notes:
moderate spine stress, wear & creases breaks color, small chip top & bottom spine
edge wear & creases to cover breaks color front cover, some breaks color back cover
small finger stains back cover, 2" margin tear bottom 8th page & 1" margin tear 14th page“

I knew of the interior tears, but was surprised they actually listed the page numbers and size of them.

PS - I won the book raw in an eBay auction, and the interior tears were not disclosed in the listing.

There are times I look at CGC grader notes and literally & 100% believe I'm looking at a different book.

I may agree with the grade, but the graders notes are used toilet paper. I dont know wth is going on over there
