Has the subtle scratch on the bottom of the cases been fixed yet?21838

I don't have any CBCS slabs myself, but... Rydog private msg quote post Address this user

One of the solutions was also to simply modify the cooling time. I don't think that would cost that much money. Even if the video isn't 100% applicable to the scenario at CBCS at least it's something to digest, more than we've been given to understand from CBCS up to this point in time anyway. Hoping for more info soon.

Hey, where's that guy with the vegan mayonnaise custom title? I believe it might be applicable to this thread.

No, they are discussing it because it’s a nothing burger.

The assumptions and over-simplifications being made is hilarious...this is a literal non-issue to virtually everyone.

Can someone post a picture of one of the CBCS cases that DOESN'T have this line? If there are truly cases with the line and cases without the line this would also be another thing for CBCS to address. For instance are there two machines making the cases? Is it possible that one machine has the defect and the other does not?

Exactly. It's a nothing-burger that people care enough about to try and convince OP that it's a nothing-burger.

It matters to him. So what? Why care?

Anyway. I'll rethink my statement after a few more days of people not caring, while definitely not continuing to discuss it.

Like some have already stated, you can either live with it and submit to CBCS, or you can’t and do not submit. Just put everything in Mylar and enjoy the books.

The only ones arguing here are the ones making the claim that nobody cares, which is a self-defeating argument when you are posting that claim inside a thread about the subject at hand. You do know if this was a nothing burger, then this thread and previous threads about this topic would never have come into existence right? The mere fact that this is topic means it's a something burger to at least some people.

What's your endgame here?

Do you honestly believe CBCS is going to sink any type of money into "correcting" a virtually non-existant imperfection on their slab? An imperfection that is so imperceptible that 3 maybe 4 people in a 3 year span brought up? Do you think people at CBCS have the time...or even the will, to investigate this non-issue? There are a thousand things more important than this ghost of a line. Battles are chosen and this ghost of a line won't be one of them, I'm sure....but to each their own.

But as stated before...if the line is a deal breaker for you, then don't submit to CBCS.

I can find this line on at least half of the listings on Ebay. Stop using misleading phrases like "ghost of line" implying it's invisible. The line is clearly visible once you know where to look and in many auction listings it's clear as day especially on dark backgrounds. The zeal coming from the "nothing burger" crowd is impressive to watch and behold. Just go back to eating your Doritos if this truly is a nothing burger in your mind. The rest of us will wait for more, hopefully fruitful info, from CBCS.
