Anyone else attending? We’ll be visiting family there in Washington & we all thought a Con would be an awesome way to cap off the visit! We’ll only be at the show Friday, 6/20, but it looks like a fun one! |

I'll be there Friday and maybe Saturday and Sunday. Depends on the program. I really enjoyed last year's panel with the justice league voice actors and Dan Jurgens.

Cool. Maybe we’ll cross paths! I’ll be the 6’ 4” guy in the Nelson & Murdock Attorneys at Law shirt (I buy a new shirt for most Cons I attend). ![]() |

I got home from Washington very late last night. Here’s a brief recap of my trip & my haul: It stared with a 2+ hour delay at the airport and an incredibly cramped seat. But was quickly made better by an amazing visit with family. The next day, after a round of mini golf, we visited ‘Mighty Moose Comics’ in the local mall. I’d been there before. The lady running the place this visit didn’t seem to want to be there. I walked out with just a trade for my library. ![]() Another day involved a visit at a boozy arcade! Lots of pinball, Area 51 co-op with the wife, and the “Simpsons” brawler game with the kids. Across the street was a hole in the wall card shop that specialized more in Pokémon stuff. But we figured we’d check it out. They had apparently also bought out a local comic shop & had a fair amount of back issues. I got my brother a “Xena” TPB & some “Beatles” bio comic books. The “Invisible Man” is a reader copy for myself. I also found a “Street Fighter” comic that I hope is still in my luggage. ![]() We did plenty of Lounging and catching up with family before visiting a legit comic shop. Shoutout to Jason at “All American Comics” in Renton. He was incredibly kind to us & our family. I got the wife a double signed “X-Files” comic & a cool “What If” variant. I snagged a TOS 57 & a “Powdered Toast Man Special” signed by the voice actor. As well as a well loved Punisher (Marvel Knights) Omni. ![]() [qimg]https://e3effa51eee72fd900e3-2fb779bd12ec72d4612275342f2c9187.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/a88a69aacd2c4021d79afb81d1b768cd.jpg[/img] At the end of our trip, as the thread suggests, we went to Washington Summer Con and I’ll say, this is one of the best Cons I’ve ever been to. I was initially striking out due to some overpriced booths. But there were so many vintage comics and major keys, it was incredible. Then I saw a high grade “I Dream of Jeannie” #2. The vendor had it as a 9.0 and offered it to me for $150. That sounded fair given the grade, but here’s where it got tricky: He went on his phone to show me what a great deal I was getting and he showed me the going rate for a graded 9.0 (around $500). I replied, “yeah, cool. But that’s graded.” And he went on to say his grading is very accurate. Either way, we made a deal at $150. When he was bringing me change for the purchase, my friend pointed out what looked like a pin-hole in the cover. I mentioned it to the vendor, he took it out and sure enough, there was a hole through the cover. He apologized & sold it to me at $40. Im glad my friend noticed the hole. He saved me big time. A reminder to inspect. Your. Books! ![]() Then there’s the book I can’t believe I came home with, Amazing Spider-Man #4! ![]() This is THE book I wanted, and after my wife pushed me to pull the trigger, I went for it. At this point, I was essentially tapped out, and I had no intention getting any autographs. But directly across from where I got the ASM 4, I saw Richard Karn & Debbie Dunning from “Home Improvement”. This was our family show growing up & my Dad, who is a General Contractor LOVED the show. So, I had them sign a “Tool Tine” hat for him. ![]() |

@00slim Love Love Love Love that I Dream of Jeannie #2. Been looking for a high grade issue myself. Freakin impossible to find. When/If I find one, it should go well with my I Dream of Jeannie #1 which is tied on census for highest grade at 9.0. It's fascinating to me that these two books (1 & 2) are probably the single most difficult books I've ever encountered to find in high grade. Literally. High grade raws have been on my watch list for more years than I can count and I get crickets |

@Nuffsaid111 Totally agree. I like the cover to #2 more, but of course I want a solid #1. Mine is mid-grade at best.

@TheShocker I’m not trying to blast the guy, he did make it right. I didn’t get his card, but according to the back of the book, it’s “Terry’s Comics”.![]() |

@southerncross I heard about this, but I didn’t know it was at that show. She says she tapped him on the shoulder and his response was to grab her arm & bite down so hard, he almost drew blood. |

Perhaps the report I read got it backwards. If he tapped her on the shoulder and she didn’t respond? And his response was to … bite her? I hope a mind altering substance was involved. Either way, yikes. |
