Daredevil Born Again: With SPOILERS21663

I'd like to say I still turned out alright, but that would be a lie. flanders private msg quote post Address this user

I must have bad taste.

SPOILER ALERT!

I see what you mean now @poka. I thought episodes 1 & 2 were entertaining, took a break and watched all 3 seasons of the original series, and now I can't even make it through episodes 4 & 5 of born again. The pacing is off, the writing is terrible and the action is non-existent. Even when there is a brief action scene it's poorly executed and seems like there was no effort into any of the fighting choreography. Everything is so anti-climactic. The cameos are underwhelming and to say Kingpin is a shadow of his former self, would be an understatement. In the original series he was terrifying. He violently murdered people and there was always a sense of fear anytime he was present. Now, most of his scenes are just him sitting in a chair or behind a desk and there's nothing intimidating about him. Even episode 3 was lackluster.

Unfortunately I won't be watching the rest of the series. I found myself skipping through a lot of episodes 4 & 5 in anticipation that maybe I could find something other than boring dialogue, lack of character development and no action. Maybe I missed something skipping through, but I doubt it.

It's possible I've developed bad taste from watching such trash over the last few years and originally liked the Born Again episodes because I didn't know any better. Watching the original series for the first time may have reset my computer to be less accepting of rubbish.

I really wanted to enjoy this series but I'm not too disappointed because at least I discovered the original series. What does everyone else think?

The Netflix shows were great - watched them on 1st release and probably a few times again since....had no desire to watch what Disney would do to the character....all indications are I made the correct choice

Add DD to the pile of franchises and shows that are now unwatchable...and like...if they were getting the viewers I would say "wow" guess I'm getting older and these just aren't for me....but it seems like they aren't for anyone really......

I'm currently re-watching Firefly...truly a great show!

He did give up being daredevil. So thats big factor in sparse action scenes.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
Episode 5 was basically a stand-alone and was definitely a drop-off. Episode 6 seemed to be getting everyone back in the saddle again, so maybe you can skip ahead and pick it back up.

The most memorable episode I recall of the original Netflix DD is the episode in which Frank is put in prison and he kills everyone that they through against him. Man that was a brutal scene! I am watching the current DD series and it pales in comparison but I am still enjoying it. I decided long ago not to get high expectations for new comic material on the TV or Movies.
