its looking like a small group this year so where we eat shouldn't matter. the pizza place next to where we ate last year sells buy the slice, has every topping you can think of, has deep dish and sicilian.

lets just meet up that sat. judge how many are going then decide. if its a small group then options are easier, large group like last year than will be more specific

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user

if you are interested there is a couple of movie screenings in the city that weekend.

Thursday at the Carolina Theater Belk Palace will be screening Empire Strikes Back at 7pm. its a small theater for small stage shows and occasional special movies. ticket prices based on area. cheapest is $16 after fees. located further down the street from where we ate last year

Friday at the local forth ward park (around same distance as the theater just you turn somewhere. will be having a movie in the park. which this week will be Night at the museum. its free, bring your own blanket, chair or sit on grass or on the few park benches. there is a concession stand that sells hotdogs and drink

I do plan on attending empire strikes back. if any of you want to meet me in lobby, will do so

If pizza is a good idea. depending on how many. best we go to Mellow Mushroom. its a place with plenty of tables, we just come and say how many and they find a table.

if you want to go to either movie.

Carolina palace Belk theater- on Tryon (street monarch is). just walk, its a glass building. oppisitte side of the road to monarch. if you reach a church, you walked too far

forth ward park- on Tryon walk till you reach corner where discover place is. turn. head towards it parking garage. on next block cross street to park

Alexander Michaels- (restaraunt/pub I suggested is on other side of 4th ward park. you just walk the path to the other end)

Ill keep an eye out. he's on my maybe do list. my autograph budget this year is for John Romita Jr. I could spend more as my cbcs budget is going towards something cool. so depending on how much I spend, could have extra

to keep an eye out for me. Friday will be wearing a Rick Vaughn #99 away jersey (Major League), saturday a Bill Murray Toon squad jersey (space jam)...or vice versa. Sunday likely a light blue spiderman shirt

Ill probably do Jurgens (unless he changed his pricing. first is free) and most of the free people Friday as the spending on cool stuff day. sat will be on line for romita Jr.

Ill also be going to the empire strikes back screening I mentioned tomorrow. but not movie in park on fri. Its not a special screening but the local IMAX theater which is next to the park thats doing the movie night is showing How to train your dragon

Not sure of the wardrobe yet but I will have my red junior hand truck loaded up with 3 or 4 boxes at a time so I should be easy to spot.

I filled up two short boxes with books for Roy.

Sat is going to be interesting.

Planning to kick off Friday on Chris Claremont's line.

if you want to do the movie. you will have to either buy at ticketmaster or at the theater close to showtime. cheapest seats were $17 for close and balcony (after fees and tax). as I said its a small theater for small stage shows and occasional movie (they are playing summer blockbusters each week)

if you want to do movie in park to see night at the musem its free, just bring your own chair, blanket, or sit on grass or on few benches nearby. there is a grocery store nearby that sells good pizza and subs made to order

the IMAX theater right near the park if you want to see how to train your dragon. its a science museum for kids and families mostly with a large dome IMAX theater with a 79 foot tall dome screen (largest in Carolinas)

spent first 2 hours seeking star wars #1 grade didn't matter if it looked good enough. but ended up buying a Thor #8 (Jane foster revealed as Thor) asm300 variant cgc 9.8, Batman #428 (death of Jason Todd) which look grade worthy and to say I got the issue. facsmile of Star wars #1

day 2 was good.

Romita Jr was pricier than expected (brought as assumed $20, website said he charged $25, he ended up being $30. but had brought extra cash just in case) but line got lucky. was like 6th in line

Mark Buckingham was longest wait as he was doing sketch, along with a few other sigs

grabbed 26 from bargain bins, 1 free.

Found an original reprint (basically 3rd printing) of Star Wars #1. It was released after the short released 35 cent variant. no way I wouldve afford a 1st or that. so scored on it. paid $15
