Had these signed by Chris Claremont a couple of years ago. First X-Men I ever bought.I was hoping for a better grade, but when I bought it, I didn't know what collecting meant. I read it a couple of times I showed it to my kid brothers, I put it in the drawer of a living room lamp stand. Once I ran out of room there, I put them in a shoe box. Of course no bag or board (didn't know it was a thing). The other two are the same story, but by then I tried harder to protect them, still not bag and boards till many years later. At least the other two were a pleasant surprise. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Beautiful books! Alas, wish Dave Cockrum was still amongst us and how cool that'd be on these books. |

Quote:Originally Posted by Nuffsaid111 Thanks! I completely agree about Dave Cockrum. I have two Dave Cockrum signed books, but they are books I don't collect nor am I that interested in. They are Harbinger Files 1. I only bought them because they had Dave's signature on them and they were cheap. I sent one in with another batch of VSP'd books and it passed, so I will send the other one with another small batch I still have unverified signs on. |

@sportshort damn those are beauties. They look great in the case and the fact they are you'd original comics makes them extra special. Have you met Chris Clairmont?

He had insights and opinions about storylines and some "what it" storylines. He was very cordial and kind while we were in line, some folks were yelling questions and he would stop signing (Yikes, the line was super long) and answer- very animated. |

@sportshort that's awesome. Got to meet him last year. Was very pleasant and even made a comment when I brought my iron man comic. "Well that's my one and only time I wrote Iron man but it was fun."

I didn't learn about bags and boards until I was 15 years old and a kid from the USA in school sold me his comics in bags and boards. After that I took care of mine like babies!

@SpiderTim, I bought my first bags in my early 20’s, boards came even later. I guess I should consider myself lucky that some of my books came in relatively high.
