So these smudged sigs get through JSA but I can't get a witnessed sig authenticated by Beckett, lol

How can they authenticate something they can't even see?

they had no intention whatsoever of returning your money and pushed it through.

I gave CBCS a Stan Lee, they deemed it a forgery and quickly refunded part of my funds and kept only what they said they would at the time of my submission.

This is just one reason, I would like CBCS to surpass CGC.

That's crazy. Those signatures would make Jackson Pollock proud.

I wonder who those books belong to?

100%. Why would the submitter pay to grade the quality of the autographs if they were already smudged?

There are two at MCS. A 9.8 and a 9.6.

It almost looks like they were smeared when pressed or stacked when wet.

Lol.. Well that's quite different from how they handle plain old unable to verify.

Probably verified, then smudged, then graded.

I can't imagine sending in these smudges and paying extra for signature grades.

Then again, I can't imagine someone having this many Stan Lee signed high grade 252's that were just sitting in some box until now. 🤷

At what point does a signature devalue a book? I think we've reached that point. I would only pay a fraction of the price of a 9.8 unsigned, for this dreck.

To be fair..if they could exhume Stan, get a picture of this book next to his ink-stained wrist, I'd actually pay pretty close to the 9.8 FMV. 👌

I am pretty sure that is the Stan Lee variant signature that cost extra. It's the new thing now with artists/writers. Various colors, different fonts, magical pixie dust ink, etc. Get with the times people. ;-)

Eveytime Chris Claremont scrawls his name across a comic book cover it devalues it as far as I'm concerned.

I have no idea, but I'm guessing it went like this...

1.) Books submitted to JSA for signature authentication.

2.) Books pass authentication and are then moved to CCS for pressing. Perhaps they weren't signed with a Sharpie. Perhaps they were. At any rate, signatures get screwed in the pressing process.

3.) CCS is like, "Oh, shit! Now what?

4.) The cgc is like, "Well, the signatures passed authentication and we screwed the pooch on the pressing. So, let's give the submitter 9.8s all around and hope that no one notices. Stan was shaky is his final years. If anyone asks, Stan smeared them at the signing. Yeah, that's it. Stan smeared them because who in their right mind would submit ten smeared signatures for authetication. No one will ever know. Lolz."

If they were submitted smeared, then JSA is as big of a joke as the cgc at this point.

5.) The submitter regrets not sending the books to CBCS.
