I'm sure it is within the acceptable damage range for a 9.6. Good for the seller to leave homeboy holding the bag.

MCS was going to submit one of my CGC consignment slabs for recasing because the inner well was open on one side. CGC is still screwing me over after almost 5 years. I asked MCS to return it to me because I don’t do business with CGC anymore AND I don’t want a banana slab after the reholder. It was a bit disconcerting that MCS does this automatically, especially with the shit pile that CGC has become. At least I had the option to have the slab returned. I will probably crack it open and remove the book. It’s not worth the cost to have it fixed. |

I got one back last week. Bent as crooked as could be. The only way to guarantee no bananas is to not submit. |

I went to heroes con and had some conversations about cgc. even the devote users agree they tend to suck. the con was a fiasco at their table. they had huge lines and one person working the table. they were focusing too much on the on site grading and none on normal (or vice versa). so people waited longer than they shouldve on the one they didn't care about. I did buy a cgc comic. as they cant damage or give bad slab if already graded. but I wouldn't trust them with my comics even if they were the only grading company. I just get a really good Batman #428 (death of Jason Todd) and Star Wars #1 (reprint variant) as pretty darn good. I plan to grade them if I get a chance but I wouldn't trust cgc to handle them |

All that would have likely prevented it is cut the inner well a MM maybe .5mm shorter on all sides and this one would not be a naner. |

Hopefully the phrase 'long term' is what's giving them the heebie-jeebies. IMO, it would be parade worthy if Blackstone sold CGC. |

I've wondered for years if they have an engineering staff (or even 1 engineer). The engineering would cover: 1. Packaging of all the slabs to the customer 2. Case design. I was in engineering/manufacturing and understand that solutions require not only time for the solution to be created and implemented, but also for the solution to enter the supply chain such that the customer finally sees the solution in their received product. (Lead times & use up of existing product) But after years and years and years of poor corrugated boxing packaging, it is finally alot better. But 20+ years to get there?? And after years now of bananas, when is this solution going to hit? Is this a 20 year fix too? Do they have engineers on staff? Do the contract out engineering for corrections to designs? Improvements? |

THIS is the proper way to treat a CGC slab. Won't matter if it is bent a little.

Rest assured, they are aware of the problem..but right now gaslighting and taking advantage of the misplaced trust (or flat out denial) of all the “only CGC’ers” is a much more economical strategy for them. The fastest way this gets better is if more people stop buying slabs 44 series and higher, and I would even encourage people at cons to peacefully and creatively “picket” a respectable distance near their booth to spread the word…bring examples of your slabs, hand out flyers identifying what the issue is. I’d love to see some anti CGC costumes…banana in a CGC slab would be the best. |
