I just pulled the trigger on my C2 E2 tickets! I’ll be there all three days and really looking forward to it! Was curious if anyone knows if you buy autograph tickets of a celebrity, do they sign something that I bring or am I limited to only things at their booth? Also is CBCS attending? Hope to see some of you there! |

@antoniofett I wish I could answer your question. The few Conventions that I have been to I believe most celebrities can sign just about whatever you want. Some also have face shots and other things they sell at their booth.

I don't know if it works the same for the celebrities as it does for the comic creators. Comic creators will sign anything. I saw celebrities signing comics and pops. Ernie Hudson signed a proton pack. Some do have their own merch, and I knew a few celebrities had pre signed merch you could buy that was reasonable when you take into account the cost of their signature. I wish I could tell you more but I don't do celebrity signings myself, but also, different celebrities do different things, some have lists of things they will and won't sign so its also tough to determine. The more popular the celebrity, the less flexible they are, as they really have to keep the line moving as much as possible. Currently C2E2 guest list ia a lot more attractive on the celebrity side than it is on the comic side. Last year, I had for 3 seconds, entertained the idea of getting Mark Hammil's signature at FanExpo, I think it was? I gave up that notion when I found out his signature, 1 signature, was $400 |

@GothamBridge wow! $400?! I mean I love Mark but not $400 dollars worth! The most I’ve ever paid for a sig was Neal Adams and it set me back $50.

Antoniofett, if you scroll down on the buy tickets, you can click on autographs to prepurchase them for "celebrities". I would bring what you want to get signed. All they can tell you is no. I saw a guy get a Batman bike signed by Adam West and Burt Ward. McFarlane signed a life size Spawn stand up movie display for me at Wizard World Chicago in 98. Still one of my favorite pieces. His signature is like 12 inches tall.

Wizard World Chicago was my annual show for years. It was a great time. I started going to it in 1996 and it was a blast. All the artist and writers were free. Marvel, DC, Chaos, and Image would be set up as soon as you walked in. You could lay down a comic and just walk down the table and have five or six signatures and sketches on it at the other end as long as you were willing to wait in the line. They always had a guest of honor and they were free too. I know McFarlane, Stan Lee, Frank Miller, Kevin Smith were all guest of honors at some point. I finally sent some of those books off last December when the signature verification was free. I'm hoping for good grades but don't really care either way. It will be my wife or kids is problem someday because they will never be sold by me.

Some celebrities are like some artists and charge more for signing certain things. I saw Lou Ferrigno at a con and he had one price point for signing pictures or things from his table and a higher one for signing "collectables". Something to be aware of.
