If you see something for sale that has an unauthenticated autograph on it but you’re interested in getting it and having the signature verified, Beckett offers a “Signature Review” service. For $10 (U.S.) you can send pictures or a link to the item to them, and in a short time, they will inform you if it is “likely” or “unlikely” to pass full authentication. Now, granted, this isn’t the same as full authentication. But if you’re told it’s “unlikely” to pass, personally, I’d do just that, pass. I bring this up because I ran across a Oreo cookie giveaway reprint of Detective Comics 27 that was supposedly signed by Bob Kane. The price was slightly high for an unauthenticated signature, but certainly worth it if legit. Within two hours (on a Saturday, no less) I was informed the signature was “unlikely to pass” full authentication. Saving me hundreds of dollars and quite a few headaches. Just wanted to share, in case anyone here was unaware of the service. I’ve used it several times. |

I used this for the first time the other day for 2 sigs. Both came back “likely to pass” which I am taking with a grain of salt. Now I am certainly going send for verified.

@HulkSmash Good advice. It shouldn’t be seen as a guarantee but simply less of a risk. |

I picked this print up relatively cheap. I was on Beckett the site the other day. I couldn't find out if they did Dan Akroyd or Bill Murray in entertainmenr section. I tried filling out a submission form too see if they did them and it wouldn’t take. My question is will they do a signature review?![]() |

If you want to find out if they have these signatures in their database before submitting for a review, you could e-mail them.
