@KatKomics LOL

Flash Definition in Manufacturing:
Flash, also known as flashing, is excess material attached to a molded, forged, or cast product, which must usually be removed. This is typically caused by leakage of the material between the two surfaces of a mold (beginning along the parting line) or between the base material and the mold in the case of overmolding.

Okay so this is a relief. Hulksmash you are quite the forensic sleuth. Great work and I missed the movement of the line. And thanks to all of you for your thoughts and ideas. I know who I will contact for my next step for what hopefully will be a resolution.

I guess my next question is, why didn’t they fix the problem when I sent it back for a new slab when they knew full well what the problem was? At least the book isn’t damaged and I am thankful for that. Great work everyone! Yes I see my thread title has been changed and rightfully so

You'd have to ask them. No one here can answer that.
Just hope the loose piece is outside the inner sleeve or they might have to change the title again.

@Sigur_Ros “CBCS Damaged Signed Comic, But Not Really, But Wait; There’s More!”

If this were a CGC book; we all would have bashed CGC and not tried to rule anything out😂 CBCS isn’t perfect, but we were all “it could be?”; “nah; couldn’t be”

If this was a CGC book, the odds are the book would have been damaged.

That's because CBCS isn't a bunch of shithead knobslobbers trying to shoehorn your book into a well and holder that could ruin your book.

Because they processed it as a reholder (outer case replaced) and the people working thier just read a piece of paper and do what they’re told…don’t ask questions.

Ive had issues (not with CBCS, another company) where I kept having to send a slab back due to the inner sleeve having scratches…eventually I took a sharpie to the case and made it abundantly clear to the person processing the reholder knew the defects were on the INSIDE not the case…

If this book were actually damaged while encapsulating CBCS would (should) have regraded it when you sent it in for a reholder…which is why it was important to see the grade before / after you sent it back. The fact that it wasn’t is a sign the book was fine…they just didn’t understand what the real problem was that needed to be fixed.

It happens. Inner well issues are tough to get corrected…
