Different graders can hand out different grades. There is at least one grader there that seems to like to bring the hammer down on books.
There is also more than one person pressing books. I don't believe all of them are on the same skill level.
If you get the right combination of presser and grader, then it's great. If just one of them is off, then it can still be okay. If you get the so so presser and the hammer down grader, it's not going to be the outcome you were hoping for.
