I threw out the orginal cgc labels so you guys just have to trust me on some of these when I tell you what the orginal grades were.

Okay! So here we go! These are the good books, I had a gut feeling these would go up a grade and I was pretty dead on. Would have hoped for a 9.8 on the 361 but that's the game .

These are the "meh" books. Both of these were cgc 6.5's. Half a point isn't bad but I would have liked it going the other way.

Last but not least of the six books are the wtf's... My daredevil seven was a cgc 5 5. How the hell they missed all the defects that dropped this a whole grade down is mind boggling. The secret wars 8 was sent in raw( didn't trust cgc with that) and was purchased as an 8.0. After a pressing it retained the same grade??? I'm not knocking our graders because I trust cbcs 100% so I appreciate them being honest. I was sure this would have jumped up to a 9.2. I'll check the notes.

Overall, I'm very pleased in just the way they present in our case. Total upgrade, regardless of the number. 👍💪

I have been converting cgc books to cbcs for a while now and I have had some up, some down but most have stayed the same. As far as I'm concerned; cgc is dead to me. I can get everything I need from cbcs. 👍

I'd like to say I still turned out alright, but that would be a lie. flanders private msg quote post Address this user
@ComicNinja0215 were they banana books or did you decide to convert slabs in hope of a grade bump?

I'm glad I got these in when I did. Probably not getting any more books in for awhile.

Good, because I'm definitely not creating a tiktok account.

I would pay to see that... at least once.

First - Uncanny X-Men (2024) #1 NYCC 2024 Matthew DiMasi Shattered Foil Variant - This is the first issue of Gail Simone's current run, and I bought it because I had seen the original physical piece at Terrificon last year, so when NYCC came along, I scooped it up online. I sent this one in as-is.

Continuing the UXM trend - Uncanny X-Men #145 - The spine on this one was perfect so I wanted to get it pressed and sent in, and holy geez the job they did! It's CRISP and beautiful! I am very happy with the 8.5.

I was SHOCKED that this X-Men #137 Newsstand got an 8.5 as the thick spine was starting to cave-in on itself in the middle. (Does anyone else have a copy that exhibits this?) I originally bought it at one of the New Haven shows last year - first to a booth to pick and immediately grabbed it. Pressed, which looks great in the spots that absolutely needed it. Some spots could not be pressed out obviously - like the bottom left corner where it looks like it has been poked with a thumbtack or something. Held it for 15 minutes just staring into the cover - one of those kinds of books.

Absolute Batman #1 - I know this is overplayed at this point but I did it on a whim and got it pressed because my personal notes said "Probably a 9.6 without pressing". Was actually surprised this was a 9.8 as there is scuffing on the spine and edges. Will put this next to my Ultimate Spider-Man #1.

Freddy vs Jason vs Ash (of Army of Darkness): #1 Second Printing - Did not think that this would get over a 9.0 with the spine tics so the pressing was definitely worth it here.
