@flanders Glad it worked out for you. I know you were concerned about submitting it.

Got some books back. It took me about as long to get the tape off the bubble wrap as it took them to do the grading. I would say the order was a pretty mixed bag.

I got this at an estate sale, mostly because I never come across it in the wild. I didn't expect this to be my highest grade.

In contrast, there's always a Spidey 300 somewhere.

This book presents way better than the grade, IMO. I'm disappointed in this one.

I got this because it's cool and old. It's still cool and old.

First X-Men crossover. Reminds me that I need to get another copy of FF 28.

The rest are finishing up my early X-Men graded run. They're all graded now although a few are raw graded.

A little lower than I would have liked, but fine.

My other disappointment. Will have to replace this one.

No complaints here.

Not that it wasn't safe and secure before, but it's really safe and secure now. More early Walt Kelly!

@xkonk That Tales of Suspense 49 is a toough book. I thought CBCS was a little rough on my latest graded submission as well.

Some rarities from around the world. Two Spider-Man 300 from Indonesia a first and a second printing
Then from Iceland a couple 252 and a secret wars 8
Then finally a Spider-Man 300 from Argentina.

Yeah, the price goes up pretty steeply with condition from what I've seen. Happy to have a decent copy.

Well, this submission was middle of the road at best.

The bright spot was this Uncanny X-Men 165. It was actually a PGX 9.8 in another life.

I was also pleased with the the X-Men 8.

The Amazing Spider-Man 286 landed about were I thought it would.

Along with this Dr. Strange 16.

The Silver Surfer 1 was a slight disappointment. But I can see it going the way of the 9.6 when I really look at it.

Now for the WTFs.

These four books are some nice looking 9.6s. It makes me wonder who has their butt puckered in the grading room.

X-Men 7, X-Men 25, and Wolverine 75.

This one broke my heart. I knew this was a beautiful book and a lock at 9.8. It even received Exceptional White pages. But alas, it was not meant to be... 9.6... Boom. Pft.

There was one other graded book, but it was such a travesty of justice I can't talk about it, much less post it. I might have to result to voodoo or pull a Pet Sematary. I don't know. I'm talking crazy now.

Thank God I had the books grade screened. The ten that failed would have really sucked. Those grades would have been apocalyptic.

All of these will be for sale except the X-Men 165 and, for now, the X-Men Annual 9.

I know. Stupid, right? I'm tempted to see what the cgc would grade the four 9.6s.

I sound like @ComicNija0215. Crazy talk, man. I tell ya.

I have an FF 185 that failed a 9.4 grade screen. I can't for the life of me figure that one out. Gorgeous book.

This isn't the box I thought it was going to be, but that's okay. It's a pretty good box. Certainly better than the last one. Only four failed the grade screen. The few books that I really wanted to be 9.8s weren't. I think all of these will be for sale.

Here we go...

Part of it is I like fooling with it. Something to do. Plus, it gets the books out of my house.

I was hoping the Sinister Six books would come back 9.8. None of them did, lol.

I complain. Sometimes a lot. However, it is easier to sell 9.4s and 9.6s than the 9.8s as the price points are lower and you have a wider market. That said, the profit margin is lower.

Plus, as I mentioned earlier, it's a bit of fun. And it's a lot cheaper and healthier than hookers and blow, lol.

@DrWatson I find our hobby not only enjoyable but more often than not, it is therapeutic.
Especially when doing lab work. Takes patience, which produces a calming peace.
And when you make a few dollars in the process, makes it even more enjoyable.

My HOLIDAY24 drek has returned! I only submitted seven comics, and expected them all to get grades in the 9.2 to 9.6 range. I was only disappointed in one of the grades (it was the book in the worst shape for the lot, and I did not purchase it new), so not bad compared to other submissions I have seen posted here. I did not have any of the books pressed, which could have probably helped out a book or two.

Here's the first three. I bought the DD and Firestorm new back in the day and had them signed at conventions that I attended. I won the Soulfire book on an MCS auction several years ago. I bid on it becuase of the Michael Turned signature (MCS had it as a 9.2 - spot on).

Here's the other four books. The first one is a UK edition that I bought when I was on vacation in Ireland 8 or 9 years ago (so it had to survive being in my carry-on). I accidentally listed it as issue #2 on my invoice, but CBCS got it correct on the label. I had that book and the Harley Quinn #1 (and another book or two) signed by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti at a convention a few years ago. Amanda told me that she never gets to see foreign additions so she was happy to see that one. I bought the two WW's from a dealer. I knew the #36 wasn't perfect, but thought it would still get a 9.2. I think it is one of David Finch's best covers.

PS - If anyone is interested in any of these books, feel free to send me a PM.

I was excited to see these when I went through the slabs that just arrived in this particular box. I bought them all myself off the stands. I had wanted a set for a long time, but I wanted it to mean something more than a random online purchase. These made me smile.

Question: Why is Wolverine missing a set of claws on Cover C, but he has both sets on Cover E?

@DrWatson - Believe it or not, he only has his claws extended on one hand because Marvel didn’t want him sticking his claws into Cap’s head in the 50-year logo box.
