Spider Man Torment #1 Gold,Silver and bagged question21519

Collector AdamBomb private msg quote post Address this user
Does anyone have an idea what the real market price is for these issues are now?

I lost my passion for the hobby and also had a small comicbook selling business and I have a lot of these just gathering dust...I think close to fifty. I was a huge stippler on the condition so very close to all of them are bagged and boarded at least 9.6.

I had them in inventory cause I'd send them to one of the services and had them signed by Todd and slabbed(if I remember we called it at the time)at CGC. I actually found one 9.6 hiding in my stock.

So does anyone have an idea what the going rate would kinda be for that many and quality plus one CGC graded 9.6 silver edition all together in bulk...If plan to sell them in bulk.

Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you

Is it a gold label signature series slab? That can help give a price estimate

Yes, it is a gold label 9.6 as far as the graded one is concerned. But if I wasn't clear, I am planning to sell the RAW (about 50) copies of Spiderman #1 "Torment" all together in one bulk listing to a good buyer with the one CGC 9.6 slabbed copy.

It's been so long and I've been out of the market for a while I don't know what a fair value or even a price to sell fast would be. I tried ebay and the prices as usual are all kinda inflated.

So I wanted to price it according to what the real market would consider. So that's why I came to this community, but it's been a while. I used to list my graded books and new issues here years ago.

Silver and standard editions at the moment are worth $10 each retail.

The gold 2nd print goes for slightly more. $12-$20.

Newesstand can be more like $20.

Bulk, you’d have to mark them down. I see a 3 issue lot of gold versions just went for $30.

Coincidently, I’m in the market for a set of the 3. Maybe we can work out a deal.

I want to slab them, so, if I could get a few of each to have a shot at a single 9.8 for the collection.

Hey thanks 00slim! There's no doubt with these will almost all be graded @ 9.6 as I always kept my grading standards high for the raws I resourced for my signed&graded books...my ebay feedback history although a several years back speaks for me..as well as some of the members that I sold to here in my listings post history.

Unfortunately I'd like to sell these all in bulk to a really good buyer. For those that didn't know I believe CGC and a select few outlets do signings with McFarlane still. These are perfect for that.

Here's the actual tally:

Slabbbed 1 CGC 9.6 gold label/white pages Spider-man #1 1990, Torment 1 of 5 polybag edition (CGC removes the bags) signed by Todd McFarlane (my serial number/1st owner)

Raw
15 Silver edition
11 Gold edition
5 News stand edition
7 poly bagged regular edition - still bagged
4 poly-bagged Silver edition - still bagged

As far as quality, one of the fifteen silvers I would go at least a 9.4 but most likely is still a 9.6(will be labeled).

The rest are 9.6 nm or higher.

I will be adding +1 one with a crease at the spine, but not to the cost. I'm very astringent on the books provided for my customers and these were hand picked and not seconds. Again, they were acquired for sign&slab with Todd.

My ask is $816.00 for the 43 books and the Slabbed gold label + shipping. Paypal first please or if you prefer, Ebay.

This is a very fair price given the quality and quantity including the Gold label. There aren't many raws out there in quantity at once and in this shape and price. Again, I believe CGC and some other private vendors still have signings with Todd.

So PM me, I always consider reasonable offers, but this is already good. Thanks!

That's because people on whatnot get caught up in a frenzy and often overpay for books. First listing on ebay is sitting unsold at $319. And a 9.8 at $399.

I could be wrong. I just think it’s just risky to hope for 9.8s to be worth while. Plus eBay not getting great prices for 9.6. All you need is a few 9.4s and you’re not even breaking even. The risk is hoping for 9.8s and getting 9.4s. I could be completely wriggle, I’m still new to this myself, but that’s what I’m thinking. You might get some offers though. Good luck.

Good luck with the offers. The asking price seems in line with what you could purchase them for on ebay including sales tax.

Not sure the reason for you post, but I appreciate it.

I've been a seller for along time and even sold to people here as my post history shows a bit as well as other forums and outlets like eBay.

The buyer will be pleased.

Thanks!

The poly bagged ones often yield much lesser grade books due to the seam on the bag.

While the book is without question an Iconic Fan favorite and one of the greatest Spiderman covers of all-time. It must also be noted that this book had a print run of over 1 million, which I believe might hold the all-time record for a print run of any comic book in history. Its a GREAT book that no collection should be without! Good Luck with your sale
